5~Grudge

The bell rings signalling lunch. I quickly pack my stuff and head over to the cafeteria. From the cafeteria doors I search for my two best friends Benjamin and Lilah. 

I see Lilah waving over to me from the other side of the cafeteria. I wave back and start making my way to her. 

Before I even reach the table someone sticks their foot out from under the table causing me to trip. 

Giggling comes from the left side of the cafeteria as I fall and I roll my eyes knowing its probably Luke and his friends.

My hands fly out searching for anything to hold on to. They make contact with a strong pair of arms and when I look up I see its Benjamin with an angry scowl on his face. 

I give him a sheepish smile in return trying to soothe his anger a bit. "Hey" I mumble quietly. He doesn't reply but just hugs me in response. 

"Are you okay? Did those asshole hurt you? I swear to god I'm gonna kill those fucking dickheads" he rants. 

"Hey, hey calm down. I'm fine!" I try to reassure him. "Just ignore them lets go eat our lunch. There's no point in wasting our time on them" I tell him. 

He nods his head and follows me to the table where Lilah is sitting. Before I can even sit down Lilah rushes over to me. 

"Those stupid shitbags. I swear to god I will murder them for you Soph just say the word" she tells me. 

I giggle slightly at how defensive my friends can get over me. "I'm fine trust me now lets eat" I tell them. 

"Benji can you please get me a water I forgot my money today" I explain to him. 

"Sure do you not want me to buy you lunch?" he asks. 

"Nah. I'm fine I'm not that hungry I just want some water" I tell him. 

"Okay" he mumbles as he gets up. He makes his way to the vending machine and on the way as he passes me he ruffles my hair. 

I huff at the fact now my hair is in my face. A few minutes pass and we all just talk about how double bio is so boring at the end of the day but then again what other choice do we have.

Benjamin comes back with my water I mutter a small thanks as he tells us that he's going to sit with his friends for a bit. 

Benji was like a brother to me. He always looked out for me and when the boys in school would try anything funny he would tell them off even though I could handle them.

I loved him and Lilah with all my heart and I hoped they knew that. "So... hows Mr Husband?" Lilah jokes. 

I turn to her with a ' are you serious' look. "Eh. I don't know really we haven't spent that much time together, but he went up against his father for me today" I tell her. 

She raises her eyebrows. "Over what?" 

"School. His father wouldn't allow me but he said I could" I explain to her. 

"What the fuck. Why wasn't his father allowing you to go to school?" she asks.

"Well in our families it's not really that common for the girls to go to school" I tell her. Lilah doesn't know that my family is in the Mafia or that I am. 

No one in the school knows that we're in the Mafia and it has to stay that way but there's some thing that I wish I could tell my best friends but I have to refrain from doing so. 

"Lets go get our books for double bio" I tell her. Grabbing her arm and pulling her out from the crowded cafeteria. 

It was much quieter in the hallways. I led us to our lockers and we both changed our books for the next lessons.
