- All three of the children are Bilingual, they speak Japanese and English (and a little bit of Italian!).

- Both Kojiro and Karou can speak English pretty well, well enough to hold a conversation. Although some things still go over their heads and the kids have to explain it to them, like slang and specific accents.

- For example, once they met someone from Tennessee, and Kadence had to explain to her confused and slightly freaked-out parents what "y'all'd've" meant.

- Karou's English is worse than Kojiro's because he thinks the language isn't as smooth as Japanese, and sometimes he trips over words.

- Also, Karou doesn't really like the way his voice sounds when he speaks English, he says it makes his tongue feel too big for his mouth-  but he deals with it because of work.

- Kojiro, on the other hand, enjoys speaking English immensely for some reason that Karou will never understand.

- Kojiro also speaks Italian, because his parents are Italian and nobody can change my mind on this I wiLL DIE ON THIS HILL.

- At home, Karou and Kojiro speak fully in Japanese, which is how their children learned- and the kids are fluent enough that they can respond to Karou and Kojiro's Japanese with English.

- The kids learned a bit of Italian thanks to Kojiro, who often speaks it around them, and Kadence took a lot of it in during the few years she lived in Japan, when Kojiro's parents would babysit her.
