Kesi sighed as she rolled out of bed , her head swinging while she looked back at Brandon's empty spot. Another early morning practice, she wished she could wake up to him like she did on the off season. Shaking her head as her curls bounced around her face she clutched her stomach feeling another wave of nausea hit.

Maybe it was the seafood she'd ate two days prior or her nerves about returning to law school but Kesi had been experiencing the worst nausea of her life for the past two days. Scents even triggered it sometimes and it was especially horrible in the morning.

After taking a pregnancy test and it coming back negative she'd brushed that thought off with slight relief. It would be nice but they had other plans they needed to complete first like a wedding that was only a month away and the slight weight she'd gained. She really wanted to look perfect for her wedding day.

The thought of it made her smile as she ambled towards the shower and turned it on just as her nausea struck again making her run for the toilet ultimately regurgitating whatever was left in her system from the day before.

"I need to see a doctor." Kesi said to herself before she settled on the floor and tried to find her equilibrium again.

After five minutes she got on with her morning routine and got in her car to begin her journey to the hospital. In the midst of LA traffic her phone suddenly went off and she answered the call. It was none other than Nadia, Kyle Kuzma's girlfriend and a close friend of Kesi's. One she'd gotten attached to in a short period of time.

Along with Kam who was Josh Hart's better half , she would also be in Brandon and Kesi's upcoming wedding as a bridesmaid.

"Hey KesKat! What are you up to right now?"

"Hey Nada, I'm headed to the hospital at the moment."

Nadia gasped on the end of the line as the queue of traffic began to move and Kesi drove along. Kevin Gates' Jam playing softly in the background. One thing she'd never get accustomed to was LA traffic.

"Really what's wrong? Why didn't you call me I would've drove you?"

"Because it's probably not a big deal , I've just been nauseous. I think it's something I ate."

The nonchalant tone of Kesi's voice seemed to calm her friend's tone.

"Okay if you think so but Kes nausea is serious , could you be pregnant?"

She remembered when that was the first thought that crossed her mind. TO be honest it still was swimming in the back of the many culprits she'd began cluing out behind her sudden sickness.

"I mean I thought so but I took a test and it came back negative."

"Hmm so one test only?"

Nadia began just as a voice in the background yelled something out.

"Tek anudda one!"

The Caribbean accent dripping off the words immediately made Kesi smile as she figured that Nadia and Kam were together.

"I'll ask the doctor I guess." Kesi chuckled "But enough about me , what are you two up to?"

She turned off onto another street as she heard shuffling from her phone. The hospital was only about five more minutes away and she was beginning to relax into her drive.

"Oh we were just having lunch , we were talking about how excited we are for next month and we were about to stop by your house afterwards if you were home."

A small frown came to Kesi's face.

"Aww well we'll have to do lunch some other time. I don't think my stomach would've survived food or your visit to be honest."
