New Year's Eve 2012

Kesi wandered around the park with Sade , a girl from her math class, middle school in Kinston had brought her few friends but a close circle nonetheless and she was really close to her dad.

All the Kinston families gathered on Pearson Park to see the fireworks and hang out. Her dad was talking to Donald Ingram and helping out with the grill so she'd wandered off.

"There go your boyfriend."

Sade teased her as she pointed to the court. Kesi just rolled her eyes , she didn't like playing Sade's games, Kesi knew she liked Brandon too. Sade just said stuff like that to see Kesi's reactions and calculate how she could get in.

SO Kesi's face remained neutral as she waved her off.

"Let's go watch girl , you know there's a few minutes before it's new years anyway."

"Sade it's a whole thirty minutes."

"Exactly girl , let's go."

Sade pulled Kesi over to the bleachers and they sat on the third row. Kesi watched half her attention there, half on something else , in her head. She wondered what her brother was doing right now, she hadn't talked to him in so long it was crazy.

"There they go , fast asses."

Sade bumped Kesi and pointed over to the other side of the court where five girls stood wearing short shorts and crop tops hoping to catch a baller's attention. Kesi shook her head , she knew one of those girls was shooting for Brandon , Tina or something.

Her best friend was quite popular with the girls in their school which meant Kesi was quite unpopular because they spent a lot of time together.

"Look at Tiffany over there flaunting that broad back and stiff ass of hers." Sade huffed "Brandon not paying her no mind."

Kesi laughed, Sade was so damn extra and nosy.

"Oh shit girl B's coming over here, I look okay?"

Kesi glanced over at her and nodded. It was just Brandon anyway.

"Hey Kesi , Sade."

He hugged Kesi and she squirmed away from him causing B to laugh, he gave Sade a side hug next.

"B what I tell you about touching me when you all sweaty man."

Kesi huffed and he just chuckled while Sade rolled her eyes , lowkey pissed that Brandon gave Kesi that big ass hug and gave her a church squeeze.

"Girl , you better take that sweat and the love that comes with it. What you tryna do out here?"

"Just waiting for the fireworks like everyone else."

Brandon nodded and watched his best friend, her green eyes vibrant as ever. He'd looked for her when he first came but when he didn't see her decided to play a few games.

"I was just going to get something to eat from a stall , you want to come with B?"

Sade batted her eyelashes at him and he glanced at her before shrugging and looking at Kesi.

"Sure, you want something Kesi?"

"Nah B I'm good."

He smirked and stepped away from her beginning to follow Sade.
