Aziah walked into her room the next morning , hoping to find her roommate but the sight she found only made her want to talk to Kesi more than she had before.Her and Brandon were sleeping , cuddled up together and it was such an adorable sight that Aziah snapped a picture or ten, from different angles too. So she was right, Brandon Ingram was Kesi's first heartbreak but Kesi still would have to divulge the whole story to her.
She wondered if she should wake them up, they all probably had class soon. However she didn't want it to be awkward so instead she got her books and then slammed the door extra hard and hoped that did the trick. She heard some movement so it probably did. She didn't know why but a smile came to her face as she began her walk to Dramatic Writing.
She was interpreting Macbeth and so far for the first hour and a half she was daydreaming until her phone buzzed and took her attention back to reality. It was a facebook and Instagram notice.
@DejounteMurray followed you on Instagram
Dejounte Murray has sent you a friend request on Facebook.
She opened the Instagram notification and raised an eyebrow after seeing that he liked ten of her photos, one of which was a bikini shot that Derryck was pissed she left up. Under it he commented: beautiful as always , sunshine and the eyes emoji.
Aziah was perplexed and flattered , who was this guy? She hopped over to Facebook, peeping up every so often to make sure the lecturer didn't see her.
She opened his profile and searched through it. He was from Seattle where most of her family was and where she lived the first 9 years of her life. She visited every year to see her aunts so maybe she'd met him there at some point. She continued her scan looking at his schools and eventually she came across a throwback picture he posted up from the 4th grade. She easily picked him out , he was cute but he looked way different , puberty had hit him like a mac truck , he had his arm around a little girl with chocolate skin and long thick black hair,she wore big round glasses that were falling down her button nose and she was the tiniest thing. Aziah looked closer at the blurry photo and nearly fell out her chair , the girl was her.
They'd gone to school together, she looked back up at his name and thought hard.
"Dejounte Murray , Dejounte Murray , why can't I remember you? "
She whispered to herself and then it came back to her. They never hung out much , he was her age but he was always with Carter and Cartier playing basketball at their neighborhood park. They still hung out whenever their family visited Seattle but she was always out with her aunts and cousins.
That picture was taken on that last day of school , a week before her family moved.
She accepted his friend request then liked it , not caring how old that post was. Just as she was about to place her phone in her bag again , it buzzed. Derryck was messaging her. It was a screenshot of Dejounte's comment.
Who the fuck is this and why is he liking all your pictures?
Aziah looked at the message and rolled her eyes , she was getting sick of this. So instead of texting him back she texted Kesi , she needed to confide in her best friend more than anything right now. Her life was a mess and she'd broken the one love rule she had, never use the word if you don't mean it.
Can we talk , after classes, skip lunch , I'll bring something to our room, please Kesi.
She thought being with Derryck would be great , she thought they'd have the spark , she didn't realize it would fizzle out so quickly.
