𝚮𝐲𝐝𝐫𝐚 𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐲𝐬 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 shadows. It's how the organization has survived for so long. It was Rosalie's first inclination when she ran away, to bring everything out into the light, but she realised it wouldn't be that easy. She was in charge of designing the protection program. She made something that would delete everything from the internet based on a few keywords. Rosalie didn't learn the words until later. It's constantly scouring for the words, ever searching.
But the people in charge of the organization are still people. There are many of them. Plenty of people are ready to take up the mantle in case of Pierce's untimely demise. But they're still just that, people.
Minneapolis is long behind them, and Rosalie is already missing the lights. They're a distraction to her. Now, she's back to thinking, and she can't seem to stop. James is right, and she's starting to think she's let her fear of Hydra get the better of her for far too long.
"So, taking down Hydra, huh?" She asks after too much silence for her own comfort. He glances at her and raises an eyebrow. "Do you even have a plan?"
She spins the ring around her finger, trying to act as if she isn't dying to know the answer. James doesn't say anything, but she hadn't expected anything else. He doesn't have anything close to a plan.
"I didn't think you trusted me," Rosalie says.
He has to trust her to some extent if he's putting this much faith in whatever information she has. It doesn't sit right with her. If he's doing something like this for a person like her. They don't know each other, at all, but she knew of him, at least. He knows nothing.
"I don't," he plainly replies, and she wonders if he knows how to have a conversation because he isn't giving her anything.
"Then what? You were just praying I had some information that could be useful to you?" She huffs and crosses her arms over her chest.
"Somethin' like that," he grunts, and she shakes her head.
This might be the dumbest thing she's going to ever do.
"I can help," she mutters and continues shaking her head. This is so fucking dumb. James looks at her with raised eyebrows, and she smiles. "Well, Hydra is trying to kill me anyway, so living in peace isn't an option... I can't lie, living on the run isn't a life for me."
They won't stop coming for her, and getting out of the country won't change that. They've undoubtedly started to get more influence on other governments. Rosalie knows better than anyone the evolution they were trying to go through. Pierce is power-hungry, and he's always wanted more than just the mafia-like life that Hydra could give. He wants more. He wants real power, and the only way to get that is to branch out. She would never be able to get away.
