𝐈 𝐚𝐦 𝐚𝐥𝐰𝐚𝐲𝐬 𝐫𝐞𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐝 of how flawed humans are, but I never understood why they saw this inherent need to always fix them. As if a flaw is somehow a showy dark crack that runs straight through their being and all their life is spent trying to fill it, to will it out of existence. If you were to get rid of them, rid of all of them, I don't think you would find much to be left behind. They are all made up of flaws desperately stitched together with good intentions.
I don't think addictions are ever fully at the fault of the humans themselves, but I do find it fascinating. It is all simple science. They stimulate the brain's reward system in whatever way they can; drugs, alcohol, gambling, and in turn, they become reliant on the high. Humans see so many things as flaws that at times I think they forget they are all a part of what makes humanity.

"I'm goin' out," James says while she leans over the bathroom counter to put on her makeup.
"What?" She asks, and her eyes go wide. That's not how this was supposed to go down. She was thinking he would be down in the casino with her. She has no idea how Quill might react if he figures out what they're doing, and Loki might not help her out. Hydra could very well be here too. They might not be friends with Loki, but he doesn't care to send them out if they spend enough money here.
"I need to talk to some people," he calls, and she pads out into the hallway, where he's in the middle of grabbing his car keys.
"No, no, no. We're partners, right?" She nervously says and grabs onto his arm.
"I'm not gonna be your little dog for the night," he grumbles, glancing down at her small hand on his tattooed skin. Rosalie puts on her charm and looks at him with big and pleading eyes.
"Please," she enunciates.
It's impossible to deny the safety that comes with standing next to him. Tonight isn't a choice for her. It's this, or go out there where it's probably swarming with Hydra agents. Rosalie is fully wrapped around Loki's finger, and she can't do anything about it. She knows better than anyone that he's killed people for far less.
"Fine," James reluctantly says and runs a hand over his hair to smooth it down. "You better make it quick, Kasten."
He can see the clear desperation in her eyes. Bucky doesn't really understand why she feels so forced to do this. Rosalie is clearly terrified of the man. He picked that up as soon as they stepped inside. He would rather leave because of the history he has with Loki. Years ago, when Hydra and Laufeyson were on better terms, he used to do assassinations for him. All it does is bring up bad memories.
