𝐀 𝐤𝐧𝐨𝐜𝐤 𝐬𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐬, somewhere extremely far away. Rosalie doesn't want to wake up, she wants to stay in bed, legs tangled with James while they both smell like each other, like sex, while she feels his warm body against hers, close to hers. She could stay like this all day. Forever. But the knock persists. She feels a set of soft lips on her cheeks, pillow-like. James.
"I'll get it, don't worry, doll," he grumbles in that raspy morning voice of his.
"Finally," Steve's voice huffs from the door. "That laptop in the living room keeps making this dingy noise."
"Uhhh, Rose, you might have to get this one."
She sighs deeply and sits up in the bed, wrapping the sheets around her bare chest. "Can you bring it to me, Steve?"
The blond nods and disappears from the doorway, red ears and all. He probably heard them last night, even if they were trying to be quiet. James walks back to her, sitting down on the edge of the bed. He grabs the back of her head and kisses her forehead.
"You sleep okay?"
"Yeah, last night helped," she says with a smirk, and he grins, licking his lips.
"I always sleep better after that," he agrees, and then glances at the doorway. "D'you think it's gonna be another person?"
"I know it is," she sighs heavily and pulls her knees closer to her chest. "I think we should wait. See if the next people in line for taking Pierce's position are going to congregate somewhere... That's probably what they're going to do, right?"
Bucky shrugs. "Sounds right to me. Maybe ask Steve."
"Ask me what?" Steve says as he comes in with the laptop in hand. He quickly hands it over. For a second, he contemplates sitting on the bed, but he quickly changes his mind and stays standing.
"Do you think the Hydra members willing to take over Pierce's position are going to gather somewhere?"
Steve's eyes widen slightly and then furrow in thought. "Do you think they trust their security? Enough to take it online, I mean."
"I doubt Fisk knows we took the file on Hydra, and even if he did, I don't think he'd tell Hydra. On the other hand, after I left, they lost most of their security. And let a person go who could get into it if she wanted to... Do they still carry messages with Career Soldiers?"
"I think so? Why?" Steve asks, and his eyebrows pucker again.
"That's something I can get into. See what they might be planning now that Pierce is gone," she sighs and immediately goes to work on her laptop. "I should've done this yesterday, really, but I was too much of a mess... sorry about that."
