𝐑𝛐𝐬𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐞 𝐝𝛐𝐞𝐬𝐧'𝐭 𝐤𝐧𝛐𝐰 𝐢𝐟 it's the force James used to push her out of harm's way or the force of the bullet so close, but Bucky collapses. Both of them are blown backwards. Everything happens so slowly as they both fall. At first, she thinks they're going to hit the ground. They weren't that close to the massive windows.

She's wrong.

The freezing air crashes over her, and she can suddenly see the outside of the building, the bricks, and lights, and all the snowflakes whirling in the air. Rosalie's heart starts again. She finds the familiar shape of the film roll. James is clinging onto her body, and she tries to do the same while the grappling hook shoots out from the roll.

It lodges itself into the side of the wall, but they're already close to the ground. The slim steel wire tightens, jolting them. Rosalie stops falling. Bucky doesn't. He's too weak to cling onto her, and she isn't strong enough to hold him up on her own. She watches as he slips and continues down. His body crashes against the roof of a car, denting into it.

I watch from the side-lines as the gunslinger rushes to the ground. People are beginning to gather around the man with a metal arm. He is lying motionless on top of the car. Some of them are on their phones. I know they are trying to call an ambulance. The snow is blurring everyone's vision, and the man is lying in a pool of his own blood, caked in his own body as so many of them are, as many of those I have taken from his trail.

The white flakes are beginning to clear it up. They hide the pools from the world. If only he stayed there for long enough, no one would even be able to see the difference. His body would be hidden and the indent nowhere to be seen. Everything would be snow.

The blood drips onto the ground from the roof of the car, merging where it can. Do you remember the crimson in the snow? It does truly look beautiful. It is a distraction while I wait. It shouldn't be long now.

Rosalie rushes over to Bucky and crawls on top of the hood. His face is beaten and bloody, swelling, but she clutches it, nonetheless. The panic is evident to everyone around. She's breathing hard, panicking. Rosalie rips open the suit he's wearing and puts her ear on his chest, searching for a heartbeat.

She finds it.

It's weak.

Becoming weaker.

I stand and watch the black car sliding to a halt on the road. It skids against the snowy road. Kate Bishop jumps out of the driver's seat and rushes over to the bleeding man. Rosalie has tears in her eyes, and it's becoming harder for her to see, but she recognises her black hair and the coat of Kate's.
