"Are you awake?" Harry's frantic voice on the call wakes me up wider.
"Y-yeah. What's wrong?" I check the time to see it was around 2 am. He usually doesn't call me for anything so the fact that he is calling and it is in the middle of the night makes me worried.
"I-" He sounded like he was short of breath and I could hear the slight wind meaning he was outside. "I almost bought coke."
Without a second thought, I was dressing myself up by throwing on a hoodie and removing sweats out of the closet to wear over my shorts, "Where are you?"
"A block away from the hotel." He was cursing under his breath when he wasn't talking to me.
"You need me to get you?"
"No, no, I just- I didn't know what to do. I'm on the way back right now." He explains but I was afraid he might change his mind and go back to wherever he was planning on buying drugs from. I could hear him shivering, breathing sharply and exhaling through his mouth.
He was clean for almost a week and I didn't want all that progress to go downhill.
"Okay, please come to my room? If you are not here in the next ten minutes, I will come looking for you." I wasn't taking the risk of him going back. I don't care how far I would have to walk to find him but I won't let him get to drugs. I am so proud of him for having the mental and physical restraint to refrain from buying after he actually went to buy some drugs. There was no part of me that could see him harm himself like this, the only thing coming back to my mind is that night at the beach, filling me with sadness.
"O-okay. Will you s-stay on call?" I think he was even colder now.
"Anything you need, Harry." I drop the sweatpants I was holding not caring about my clean clothes lying on the floor and run to the thermostat, turning the heat up for when he arrives.
I stayed on call with him and he hung up when he got to the lobby. I was standing outside my hotel room, holding the door open and restless that he wasn't here yet. It shouldn't have taken this long.
Just as I am about to call him again, he appears in the hallway, wearing a thick black jacket along with his black jeans.
I close the door immediately, turning to him to see his face pale, he was rubbing his hands together to keep them warm. "You took so long..."
"I was asking if they had another room available, Kiara is sleeping in mine, which isn't a problem but she can't see me like this." He explains why he was delayed, making me feel relieved at the reason, shoving a hand in his hair and pulling on it while his eyes couldn't settle on a spot for more than a few seconds.
"Stay here, it's okay." I completely understand his need to keep this away from Kiara and I didn't mind him staying here if that is what he needed.
He doesn't respond, instead frantically takes his jacket off, a thin coat of sweat lining his forehead before he rushes to the washroom. I follow him, seeing him kneeled in front of the toilet, throwing up everything he had eaten. I hold the front of his hair back, my other hand rubbing circles on his upper back.
He slumps back on the floor, back against the glass door of the shower after flushing and I kneel in front of him, sitting beside his knees on his right. "It is warmer in your room." He speaks, body slightly shaking.
