Thandruill's Daughter

River walks beside Gandalf and is trying to get him to go to Dol Guldur, she says ( it's safer than going through Mirkwood). He looks at her and says ( it's still dangerous), she sighs and says ( if we go through Mirkwood, and are caught I can't help them). He nods and smiles and says ( but it is safer), the dwarfs listen to them arguing and they laugh.

They reach the border of Mirkwood, Gandalf looks behind them and says( stay on the path, i will be back soon), River walks in and sees the statue. She smiles and says in elvish( Naneth help me get them out of Mirkwood, before Ada finds them), she puts her hood up and a mask on. Bilbo asks ( what did you say), she smiles and says ( I asked for help to get you through the woods). They start walking through, Bilbo asks ( who is the statue of) she sighs and says ( the kings late wife, and mother of his twins). She takes the lead and follow the path, they have been walking for ages. She turns around and sees the dwarfs and hobbit are gone, she sighs and says ( Gandalf owes me). She walks back and shouts Bilbo, she hears spiders screaming and runs towards them.

When she gets to the nest she sees the dwarfs hanging covered in webs, she climbs the tree and starts killing spiders. She sees Bilbo and says ( cut them down), he nods as she keeps killing spiders. She says we have to go, she climbs down the tree and sees the dwarfs waking up. She goes to help them but is stopped by an arrow pointing at her, she looks around and sees her brother and his patrol. She thinks to herself ( well I'm in trouble), the dwarfs stand up and sees what's happening. Legolas orders them searched, he looks at River and says ( who are you). She says in elvish ( i will explain everything, just let us go). He comes closer and Thorin says ( keep away from her), Legolas says (we will take them back).

They bind the dwarfs and River and they start walking, River has her head down and hears the dwarfs saying where is Bilbo. She feels Legolas looking at her, she keeps walking trying to think of away out. Legolas says( take them to the cells, i will tell the king). She closes her eyes and thinks ( he will banish me), the guards put her in a cell and she sits down. Thorin says to her ( what did you say to him), she sighs and says ( i said we were lost, and mean no harm).

Legolas and a guard take River and Thorin to see Thandruill, she keeps her head down. She doesn't dare look at him, she listens to them arguing and then Thorin says dragon fire. She looks up and sees her fathers scar, she closes her eyes as tears fall. He sends Thorin back to the cell, he turns to you and says ( why would an elf help dwarfs, they hate our kind). She doesn't answer just looks down, he orders the guard to remove her hood. He sees her hair and says ( what's your name), she doesn't answer and he removes her mask. He looks at her shocked and angry, she says ( hello Ada). He tells the guards to go, he looks at her in disbelief. Legolas walks in and sees it's his sister, he looks at their father.

Thandruill just looks at her, he whispers ( why are you with them). She says ( I was asked to help by Gandalf), he sighs and says ( do they know who you are) she shakes her head. She looks at Legolas and says ( take me to my cell,), Thandruill looks at her and says (no). He starts pacing and yells ( my own daughter helping dwarfs), she looks at him with tears and says ( I know the punishment for this, it's banishment. So just do it). He looks at her shocked and says ( you think i would banish you), she nods. He says to Legolas ( take her to her cell).

Once she is in the cell she cries, the dwarfs ask if she is ok she just says yes. She can hear the feast starting, she smiles and thinks ( he is never going to forgive me). She tries to sleep but Legolas comes to her cell, he says ( River why). She looks up and says ( it's the right thing to do, they want their home back). He sighs and says ( he won't banish you, but he is angry). She nods and says in elvish ( I knew the risk brother, but they needed help), he walks away and leaves River to her thoughts.

The next morning she hears the dwarfs talking, then suddenly Bilbo turns up. He opens the cells and says ( I know away out), she follows them to the cellar. She looks at him and says ( the river, but how), he points to the barrels. She looks at them and says ( i won't fit in them, she looks at Thorin and says ( hit me). He looks shocked and asks why, she says ( if you knock me out, it would look like you betrayed me. You escape in the barrels and I find another way out). The dwarfs looks at him and he says ( meet us at Erebor) she nods and he knocks her out.

She wakes up and sees she is in her chambers, she lifts her head and moans. Legolas walks to her and says ( how are you feeling), she smiles and says ( like I got knocked out by a dwarf). He smiles at her and says ( father wants to see you), she shakes her head. She says ( i can't look at him, he was so angry at me), tears fall and he says ( when he saw the guard carry you out of the cellar, his anger left. He is worried about you rose bud). She smiles and says ( maybe after a nap, I didn't know dwarfs could hit hard), he kisses her forehead and says ( sleep sister).
