Thandruill's Daughter

An Invitation

It's been a year since the battle at Erebor, and River is no longer on punishment. She has been to Rivendell and told Elrond and Arwen about what happened, Elrond says ( I bet you won't do that again) she laughs.

She just gets back from Rivendell when a guard says Thandruill wants to see her, she looks at him and says ( am I in trouble, I haven't been here). He smiles and says ( I don't know my lady), she walks slowly to the throne room and sees her brother. He looks at her and smiles, she whispers to him ( am I in trouble, I have behaved). He giggles and says ( no, but he isn't happy), she looks up and sees her father reading a letter. She smiles and says ( I'm back Ada), he looks at her and says ( have you written to the dwarfs) she shakes her head. He sighs and says ( you have been invited to Erebor), her jaw drops. She looks confused and says ( why, Thorin doesn't like me), he walks down the stairs and says ( he wishes to make amends) he gives her the letter.

Later that day she sits in her chambers thinking, Legolas walks in and jumps on her bed. He smiles and says ( are you going to Erebor), she looks up and says ( i don't know, i don't have fond memories of there. It would be nice to see Balin again, he was nice). She stands up and says ( Ada won't like me to go), he nods and says ( maybe if I come with you, for safety). She laughs and says ( have you annoyed him), he nods and says ( I'm on double patrol) she laughs. She walks to him and says ( you tell him your idea, and see what he says), he nods and stands up. He smiles and says ( I missed you trouble), she smirks and says ( I think that's your nickname Leggy). He moans as he leaves, she giggles and thinks ( he is like father).

A few days later River and Legolas are ready to leave, they are arguing about which way to go. Thandruill walks out and sees River wanting to hit her brother, she sees Thandruill and says ( can he stay here, we haven't left and I want to kill him) Thandruill smiles at her and says ( he is going for your safety, don't kill him yet) Legolas looks at them shocked and says ( she loves me too much, she would miss me), she looks at her brother and says ( do I, will I) she smirks and says goodbye to Thandruill. Legolas gives her a dirty look, she smiles and says ( come on Leggy). He looks at Thandruill and says ( only one of us will be coming back), River smiles and says ( me) as she rides away. Thandruill laughs at his twins, Legolas rides up to her and says ( you think Thorin really wants to apologise), she says ( i don't know, but what he did to me he needs to beg for forgiveness). He smirks and says ( and you say I'm like Ada), she smiles and says ( I'm a little like him).

They get to Erebor and is greeted by Balin, he smiles at River and says ( you look good lass, I missed you). She smiles and says ( I missed you too, or this is my twin brother Legolas. But please call him Leggy) she laughs and Legolas moans. Balin shows them to their chambers, he says to River ( did Thandruill let you come, or did you sneak out) she giggles and says ( he let me, but just because Legolas would come as well). They talk for a while catching up, Balin leaves and she gets changed.

She walks around Erebor and she sees Bilbo, she smiles and walks to him. She says ( I didn't know you were here), he smiles and says ( Thorin invited me, but I'm shocked your here) she nods and says ( he invited me as well, but I had to bring Legolas). He smirks and says ( I bet that's fun) she rolls her eyes and hears her brother, she sighs and says ( I mustn't kill him, I mustn't kill him) Bilbo laughs.she walks up to Legolas and says ( you yelled), he smiles and says ( have you seen Thorin) she shakes her head. She smiles and says ( Bilbo is here), he looks and says ( I wonder why).

The next morning River is told to go to the throne room, Legolas follows her. She walks to Thorin and bows, she says ( my lord you asked for me). He smiles at her and says ( I wish to apologise for what happened, I was in my right mind. But also to say thank you for helping me kill the orc), she looks shocked and says ( Thorin you don't need to thank me, it was for middle earth. But the apology I'm not sure, you scared me and my father). He nods and says ( I hope what I am giving you will be an apology), Balin comes in with 3 pouches and gives them to River. She opens them and is shocked, she looks at him and says ( the white gems) he nods. He stands and says ( I know they belong to your mother, but your father should have them). She looks at Legolas who is speechless, she says ( thank you, my father will appreciate the gesture). He smiles at her and says ( enjoy Erebor, stay as long as you want), he walks away and she turns around to Legolas. He looks at the gems and says ( father will be happy, but I'm still not sure about him), she smiles and says ( let's stay for a few days, maybe you will like dwarfs). She walks away and hears him yell ( I doubt it), she giggles to herself.
