Soon the Mandrakes for the potion to correct the petrification problem will be fully matured. Harry will take a trip to the secret snake sewer cave. Lockhart will reap what he sows. All will be well.

That is until a certain evening when a particularly scathing twinge made (y/n) sigh in resignation. She went over to a desk tucked away in her bedroom and wrote out a note to Severus about keeping an eye on Ceres, effective by the time he gets to her quarters, finishing the correspondence as a knock sounded at her door. She closed the journal and answered the door to find Ginny standing there.

"Tom, this abduction issue needs to be addressed properly, this is the second time you're taking me hostage." She sighed.

Ginny wordlessly lead (y/n) through the castle to that snake-decorated sink and hissed to the sink.

"You slur worse than I do in the mornings, Gin. It could lead to misunderstandings." (y/n) babbled to the deathly quiet girl before she kicked the back of the adult's knee rather hard sending (y/n) sliding down the pipes to the cave where she was met with the snake shed.

Ginny followed behind and dragged (y/n) by the arm to a vault-like door that the woman was certain was inspired by Gringott's various vaults. She didn't notice exactly when Ginny had dragged her through the vault door nor to where the shoes she was looking at came from.

"Mr. Riddle, this is the second time you've incited someone to kidnap me."

"I was expecting more of a fight from you."

"My fangs are not that which ends you." She hissed calmly as her eyes shot up to meet the apparition's in a challenge.

"That's not a smart-" The teenaged form of the noseless git sneered.

"Gregor listens only to you. I'm only a Parselmouth by chance. He can smell the difference. For a guy whose best friend is a viper the fact you didn't think of that is disappointing to all snake kind."

"Gregor?"

"The basilisk. Don't tell me you didn't know after a relationship that spans decades." There was a moment where she paused and scrutinized him before she huffed a chuckle and mocked him. "You don't know the big scary snake's name, Voldemort the terrifying Dark Lord of the Wizarding world is the cruelest to his closest companions is he not."

"I will sick the snake on you."

"Then why haven't you?" She challenged the teen-faced git with a quirk of her brow.

There was a moment when the boy faced terrorist seemed like he was asking that question himself.

"So how will it work this time?"

"What?"

"The last time you had me tied up and stunned a god awful amount of times. Then you did this blood test thing that was supposed to bleed me dry. I just want to be prepared for the worst you know."

"You are giving me ideas.

"We could talk about your obvious issues and misplaced rage."

"No clue what you're talking about."

"Keep lying to yourself like that and you'll die a very dull man."

"You're saying that if I do talk about my issues as you called them I won't die?"

"Regrettably kid, no dice." Her tone was dry.

(y/n) made her way beside Ginny and examined her.

"What are you doing?" The soul snib it sneered.

"Wouldn't you like to know, weather boy?" She used her own mental abilities to evaluate the situation within Ginny's mind with a hum.

"Don't you dare-" He was cut off by her eyes glaring into his.
