(y/n) sighed, grateful that the very worst of her season had passed and her need to punish herself for nonexistent inadequacies had almost fully dispersed when a packet of neon pink gummy worms had found their way into her hands by way of the Weasley twins.
"Reg mentioned you've been out of it." Fred started.
"Res mentioned this muggle sweet you like." George continued.
"And we gave it a twist." The two said at the same time.
"Enjoy!" George called as he walked away with his twin.
Thinking nothing of it, (y/n) put them aside. Knowing those two it was either a marvelous trick or a mean kindness. Any inferences about the candy have been painfully vague and absolutely unhelpful.
Unfortunately, she found out what they did after Severus spotted them, shrugged thinking they were sweets from America and ate one hoping to understand to his lady love. He had wrapped himself around her and refused to let go of her for the next day, much to his mortification. Luckily it was an off day from his duties as potions master.
The twins received a detention scrubbing crusty cauldrons from the first years as Snape seethed over them for pulling such a cruel thing.
Harry slumped into the chair across from (y/n)'s desk with a sigh when their next teatime came around.
"Care to share?" She asked pouring him a cup.
"Trelawny, said something about the Dark Lord rising again, Buckbeak will die, and I don't know what to do." He ended with a sigh.
"No one in their right mind expects you to have a plan for everything. Perhaps a Miss Granger would be a great partner in strategy." She watched him sigh again. "Perhaps by the end of this evening you will feel the same distaste I feel towards a certain rat."
He narrowed his eyes at her before huffing and discussing his troubles with his classes.
After Harry left she looked at the time and sighed in annoyance. She left a note for Severus on his desk as he trudged through the corridors to make sure students didn't do anything horrid. And she was off just before the Sun began to set to the Womping Willow only to come upon a certain dog dragging a redhead into the tunnel under it. She shifted and followed while dodging the willow's branches.
Ron saw her after she had made it there and she turned to him and sneezed pulling the rat to be held by his scruff as she glared at the now bipedal Sirius who was trying to get the rat in her mouth.
"Give him to me." He reached for the rat but was batted away by her paw.
'Mr. Pettigrew needs be alive, Paddykins.' She hummed in his mind.
"So, what. He needs to pay for what he did to Harry, to you. He needs to!" Sirius was shaky with the excitement of being so close to his goal.
"Professor Black!" Hermione sounded relieved when she saw her furry body planted between the wounded and the one who wounded before she rushed to Ron's side to help him if she could.
'Children, please remain cal-' her thought projection was cut off by Harry pointing his wand at Sirius with a threat.
Of course this wouldn't be a Harry Potter adventure if more people found themselves in the tattered, cramped werewolf hidey hole. First much to the long suffering sigh of the big wolf in the middle of the room, was Remus who first looked at the children to assess if they were hurt, then looked at Sirius in confusion, then absolute bewilderment at (y/n) and a very familiar rat. The second to arrive was Severus who also looked first at the kids then at (y/n), then the two other adults with a pointed glare.
