"Jospeh, I'm home"
Dianne fell through the front door, dumping her bag on the floor before going into the kitchen to find joe who was just finishing with some washing up.

"Hey dot, how was your day?"
He asked her just like he always did. She wondered up to him wrapping her arms around him and kissing the back of his neck as he dried his hands with a tea towel.

"Good, I loved it. The magazines gonna be out next week"
She told her boyfriend

"That's great. What's it about again?"
He asked her

"Skincare and makeup. It was different to what I normally do though. It was an interesting interview, it was nice though. It was a good change to normal"
She told him

"That's nice then"
Joe smiled wrapping her up in his arms, properly cuddling her and kissing her lips softly.

"How was your day? What did you get up to?"
She asked

"Boring. Just meetings and phone calls, nothing exciting"
He said

"Oh, hopefully tomorrow will be better. Do you want dinner now? I'm gonna make chicken and potatoes, maybe some veg"
She told him

"That sounds nice.....I need to talk to you about something first though"
Joe said and then it fell silent. It sent so many thoughts into diannes mind. She always hated when he did this, as she never knew what would happen.

"Ok.....is everything alright?"
Dianne asked with a nervous tone in a voice and a a worried look on her face.

"Yeah...just come and sit down for a minute my love"
He grabbed her hand and took her into the living room. They sat down on the sofa together, not leaning back and cuddling like they usually did. They both sat up straight, not even looking at each other. Something wasnt right.

"What's up? Why are you acting funny?"
Dianne asked nervously

"I just need to speak to you about something"
Joe told her

"What's happened? Who's died? Who is it? It's not nan is it? Dont tell me nans gone....."
Dianne rested her chin in her hand, rushing her words in panic.

"Nobodys died, calm down dot. Just take a deep breath. Dont get worked up ok"
He grabbed hold of her hand again, rubbing his thumb over her knuckles this time not letting go.

"What's happened? you're not gonna do some silly prank are you?"
She panicked

"No.....this is serious dot. Do you remember a few weeks ago I had to go to hospital because they thought I had some kind of kidney infection and it wasn't actually anything it was just a fault in the notes and a precaution...."
He began

"Yeah I remember"

"Dont get mad, but I didn't go in for that....I didn't want to tell you what I really had to go in for because I knew it would get you all panicked, but I really went in for some tests and today I got a phone call about the results from the tests I had...."
Joe stopped, going quiet for a few seconds letting silence fill the room.
