the best birthday ever

Dianne woke up to the sound of her and Joe's shared alarm, something they did on the days they were together which was alot now. She stired from her sleep, leaning over to get her phone and stopping the alarm. She turned back over to face joe who was rubbing his eyes, adjusting to the light.

"Morning"
His voice mumbled againts the pillow.

"Morning. Happy birthday little one"
Dianne brought herself closer to his chest, resting on the upper half of his body.

"Thank you. Did you sleep well?"
He asked her

"Yeah. How about you?"
She replied

"Really good"

"You went to be as a 31 year old and now you've woken up as a 32 year old."
She reminded him

"I know it's crazy. I feel so old"
He giggled to himself

"I remember when you turned 27. That's the first birthday of yours we ever spent together. We weren't even daiting then, and now here we are, sat in a bed together as soppy domestic idiots"
She said

"I wouldn't change it for the world though"
He smiled kissing her lips softly just like he did every morning.

"I have a few things planned for today"
Dianne began

"I told you I didn't want anything. I'm happy chilling with just you"
He told her

"I know but it's your birthday. You have some presents waiting downstairs and then I was thinking we go to the beach for abit. I've booked a place for dinner at 6."
She told him

"That sounds great"
He smiled

"Shall we go downstairs now? I can make breakfast"
She said

"Pancakes?"
He suggested

"Of course"
Dianne smiled as they got put of bed and made their way downstairs to start what would be the best birthday ever.

After they ate their pancakes which dianne made, joe and Dianne found themselves on the love seat where Joe's presents were dotted around. Dianne picked up one of the presents, handing it to joe before finding her place on the floor within the rest of the presents.

"This is only something small but I guess you needed them"
Dianne said as joe opened the small gift.

"Socks. You can never go wrong. Oh they got my initials on"
He smiled at the little detail

"I know they're cute. Do you like them?"
She asked

"Yeah, you can never go wrong with socks"
He said placing them next to him on the floor.

"Ok, next one. I think you'll like this"
She handed him a bigger present which he opened, leaving the wrapping paper very neatly next to him. He lifted it up, black jacket with his Last name stitched up the sleeves.

"Oh I really like this. Its really nice. Where'd you get this?"
He asked

"I brought the jacket at a vintage shop and then I got your name on it at a separate shop."
She told him

"Awww. Its really nice, thank you"
He smiled as he put it down next to the socks, just as dianne passed him the next one.

"This one I think you'll really like"
She said as he opened it, revealing a box of Lego.

"Build your own lego computer"
He read out what was on the box, lifting it up.

"I thought it would be cool for your office"
Dianne told him

"It will. That's really cool. You've done very well"
He smiled.

"Thanks"
She smiled leaning towards joe, kissing his lips softly before taking a few steps back.

"There one last present"
She told him. He looked around seeing no boxes or any of diannes bad wrapping, and began to wonder what it was.

"Theres no presents left"
He said

"I know, this one hasn't arrived yet which I was abit annoyed about because it's your main present and I really wanted you to have it now but it's not ready yet. I spoke to the company and they said it's going to be quite a while yet, a good few months because it's being specially made and needs to develop properly before they send it to you"
She told him, sitting down next to him, brining her hand behind one of the cushions, pulling out an envelope with Joe's name of it. She handed it to joe and then wrapped that same arm around him pulling him closer.

"Its scaring me abit. Why does it take so long to make? Did you not think about that in advanced?"
He asked

"I did but the order didn't go through properly until a few weeks back"
She told him as he opened the envelope pulling out a piece of paper which had diannes familiar handwriting on it. He began to read it out.....

Hey,

I'm very sorry I havent arrived yet. But I'm your main present. Hopefully I am worth the wait. It was quite hard to get me but I'm on my way. Mummy.....

"Mummy?"
He turned to dianne a confused look on how face.

"Continue reading it. It will make sense"
Dianne couldnt hide her smile any longer.

Mummy brought me for you last week and I'm very excited to meet you. You will have to wait a while though, 9 months infact.

"Are you joking?"
He turned to her again releasing what this was.

"Keep reading it. You have to finish it"
Dianne told

I will see you in 9 months time. I cant wait to meet you dadda.

"Are you being serious?"
Joe asked his jaw dropped as he stared at Dianne in shock. She simply nodded.

"Your pregnant?"
He asked

"Yeah"
Dianne smiled as she felt Joe's arms wrap around her body.

"Awww dot, your pregnant"
He whispred in her ear, pressing a soft kiss to the wide of her face before pulling back, still keeping his hands on her sides.

"You're really pregnant?"
He asked again

"Yes, I'm really pregnant"
She giggled

"Oh my god"
He hugged her again, kissing her lips this time.

"You're happy then?"
Dianne asked

"Of course"
He smiled pulling away looking at her hazel irises. 

"When did you find out?"
He asked her

"Yesterday"
She told him

"Oh my god....I was literally thinking yesterday aswell 'I'm gonna have a great birthday cause diannes ovulating, so I'm in for a treat' but you were already pregnant. When did we conceive then?"
He said

"It must of been the day after my period finshed because I'm really early. I'm literally a week gone"
She told him

"A week. Oh my god dianne"

"They're literally developing into a baby now. Like there a clump of cells inside me right now which is slowly forming into our child joe"
She told him

"They're inside you right now"
His hands fell to her lower stomach where there was clearly to bump yet but it was just nice knowing their little creation was in there.

"Was that a good present?"
She asked him

"Its the best present. This is the best birthday ever"
He smiled scooping her up onto his lap, kissing her forehead and once again resting his hand on her stomach before they ended up in a long winded conversation about this really happening.

They were having a baby.
