(This song happened to be playing when I was spinning the wheel so I figured why not make an edgy Shay Cormac because a lot of people seem to like edgy Shay Cormac fics! Enjoy! I figured the reader would be seeing how bad the assassins can actually be)(Also this is right before the Betrayal happens when Shay steals the manuscript)Reader point of view ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

You know when you can see someone and you don't know how to bring it up in conversation but you'll follow them blindly because of love. That is what happened to Shay Cormac and me. As soon as I got the first glance of him and the Assassin's meeting I knew instantly that I was undoubtedly in love with him. The way he smiled, the way crow's feet formed at the corners of his eyes. The way his laugh could brighten my mind. That's how I knew I wanted him to be mine. However poetic I may sound it's been harder and harder to follow him and what he is saying. Talks of the Innocents that have died, almost makes complete truth. Words.  Honestly, I would follow him anywhere even if that meant jumping off a cliff.

We have had small conversations that lead to flirting and nights out on our own, him comparing the shades of red on my face to a color or a tomato, he was charming yet sweet. But after the mess that happened, the nights of hanging out with each other's company disappeared. He was acting weird that day, nonetheless the past couple of days, he seemed oddly quiet. We know what happened in the Innocence that we had lost but everyone said it was something that had to be done. I tried to check up on him but he seemed oddly quiet and he pushed everyone away. He slinked around avoiding eye contact and avoiding everyone, including me. I thought we had a connection, maybe a budding relationship. I let him have space and decided not to bother him for the rest of the day. When night finally fell he seemed hostile, snapping at the smallest things, huffing out of rooms, almost crossing the lines, and making pub fight a reality. I decided to follow him, yet in typical assassin fashion, I kept a close eye and he never managed to detect or notice me. He made his way into Davenport manor, and that's when the confusion set in. 'Did he have a problem with Achilles?' I followed him up a few traces behind, stepping when he stepped, moving in his shadows until he entered Achilles' room. That's when it really hit. I walked up to the door.

"Shay?" I knocked on the entryway into the master assassin's room and watched him as he broke into the drawer and stole the manuscript. I felt my heart sink.

"Shay, what are you doing?" My head felt hot as I took off my hood. He looked at me with an unsure glint in his eyes.

"Y/n, You need to listen to me, how many more Innocents can die before it's been too many. How much more suffering does the cost have to go through until there is no more. They are betraying their own principles that we were raised to follow. Please don't follow them blindly too.." He walked over to me and held my hands as I didn't have the heart to look him in the eyes but the more and more I thought about it was true. I silently looked away and gave an unsure nod as he slipped the manuscript into his assassin's garb.

"There is no turning back now, join me-" I nodded to him and he gave a small smile until we realized Achilles entered the room.

" I had such hopes for you two" I watched as Achilles started to circle us in a predatory manner. He seemed disgusted, his eyes not even seeing us as a brother and sister to the brotherhood, yet traitors.

"Achilles I have to do this" shay started to explain himself pushing me behind him
