Modern! Edward kenway x reader [a sirens tale]

You drove your car to the front of the university you were attending only to pick up some books you left behind at the library. You just got off a shift at the siren cafe and it was a brutal 8 hours of work yet it paid well. Yet one beautiful man could not get out of your head, his blonde hair was pulled back, his eyes of blue held the world as if it were in his palm, not to mention his nautical tattoo was similar to yours, you had a compass rose on your shoulder but due to work you couldn't show it. He came around ever other day for his usual, a black coffee and bagel with cream cheese to go. Yet back to why I am here, my books were left be hind cause (best friends name) rushed you out only to see a campus's idiotic jocks chug two gallons of Gatorade and vodka only to puke it up. Yeah you had to watch that....

Either way you walked in quietly in your Moro uniform and could here people telling stories quietly, about there adventures at sea. You couldn't help but listen the sea always gave you a piece of serenity and it was crazy, hearing them talk of black beard, whales and a sirens.

"Aye it's true, she was beautiful yet I don't think I'm ever gonna see her again, she worked at the siren cafe joint down in town." It was the man from before! At the café that had your heart.

"Oh, Edward you liked the waitress? It that why you talked with her as much as you could!" A boy....no wait....a girl! with short brown hair looked at Edward

"How could I not Mary , she was beautiful, her (E/C) could put me in a trance, and her smile, her (H/L) (H/C) not to mention she was so sweet to talk to" He was describing you, feeling a jitter.

"Now we're is that bloody siren book from last time?" He spoke to him self.
Looking at your hands you realized you had the book he probably was reading before you, you took out a scrap piece of paper and wrote something in it, and while Edward was away you placed in the book on his chair.

Mary looked at you with a smile, and you shushed her with a smile, you walked away quickly and when out the door.

((EDWARD POV))

I couldn't find the damn book yet that's okay, I went to sit down only to feel a book against my back, I picked it up.
"Ha looks like your rump found the book first!" Mary teased

"Oh hush lass" I groaned, yet with the waitress still on my mind, she was indeed like a siren I could not get her out of my mind no matter what I tried. I took a drink of water and opened the book only to find a sticky note on the inside cover"

I just about choked on my water and with no hesitation I ran out side with the book to see a car pull way onto the main road.
~time skip~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

I pulled in to the cafe parking lot around closing time, and walked in.
I looked around and I saw her singing while putting up chairs, I walked up behind her and listened.
" sweet Anne , you ain't ever gonna change~
you have a gypsy soul to blame and you were born for leaving~"
Her voice gave me chills, I walked up to her and started to help with chairs

((READER POV))
I finished up and started to put chairs up while singing 'sweet Anne' by the Zack brown band came on my iPhone.
Yet after a while I realized how fast this was going, until I felt a strong pair of hands on my shoulders, I took out my ear buds and spun around and saw him look down at me.
"Hello lass, are you the siren that's been messing with my head lately?"
"M-maybe I have been" god his looks could kill me

"Well then I don't think you would mind this" Edward got close to you, the sent of the sea and light rum musk and before you knew it, his rough lips were on your soft ones and you didn't want it to end.

The music from your earbuds played softly.

Yet unfortunately it did and I was a blushing like a bastard, and there was no denying that Edward and I did indeed start something beautiful, all thanks to a Sirens tale café.
