Error stood at the door to one of the many tunnels leading out of Farthen Dûr, sighing as he held his little gremlin of a son, letting go of the last of his pent-up anger as he regarded the gleaming city-mountain beneath a mountain. He'd spent days in the tunnel, haunting those pests that had insulted his friend and endangered his still so fragile child.
It appeared that he was just in time for something important, as the echoes of titanic drums echoed throughout the vast cavern from the glittering city.
He watched it from a distance, Fresh getting bored and climbing down his side much like a monkey and crawling around, trying and failing to walk on two legs, instead settling for a quadrupedal stance as he scampered delicately, tasting the air at everything he could find in glee.
Error then noticed a figure dashing along the cobblestone path heading south, squinting at it.
Fresh paused, peering after the shape.
It's Eragon! He chirped and hopped back, galloping straight to Error's outstretched arm and clinging to it as the glitch shot a string to the ceiling and hesitating before it latched on, then throwing himself forward.Fresh squealed, surprised by the sudden movement as he squeezed the arm holding him, beaming at the blurred ground beneath as Error let go and dropped, catching the attention of the human as Eragon skidded to a stop at the sight.
He landed hard in a kneel, grinning as Fresh wiggled with joy.
Gotta do that again, Brah! He exclaimed, tail thrashing.Chuckling at the sight, Error spoke up. "Where are you going?"
"Saphira, of course! Now let me pass, I can't wait a moment longer!"
"Alright, alright." He huffed, moving out of the way and watching the human swiftly dart by without a second thought. He watched as the Rider arrived at the gate, then teleported to his side, causing him to jump, the dwarf guards rushing to open the doors.
"What is it?"
"Thought I'd come with, make sure you don't knock yourself out trying to reach Saphira." He explained, amused.Eragon scoffed at him, but the doors were now wide enough that he could slip through, racing past the dwarves in excitement as Error followed, summoning and hopping onto a large Blaster and zooming up to thd human.
"Let me show you real speed. Hop on."Now he understood that the god just wanted to help, leaping up and grabbing the nearest horn, swinging himself to the top and crouching.
"Thank you!" He beamed before scrambling for a tighter hold as the skull immediately zoomed near the sound barrier, gripping the horns as all his clothes were blown back from his unfortunate position. He didn't seem to care though, as he managed to turn his head and shout down the hall, his mind opening up to add to the volume as he called.
"Saphira!"
In the distance and approaching was the echo of a dragon roaring.
Moments later and her glittering blue scales were visible on the other end, Error dropping his speed and grinning at Fresh's dazzled face. They were slow enough for Eragon to just about throw himself from the attack and hit the ground running, speeding towards his dragon even as she scrambled towards him, struggling not to hit her head on the ceiling and wings on the walls. Her claws then skittered and screeched upon the stone as she drifted to a stop, huffing with a slight, disoriented sway. Eragon whooped and jumped up, clamping his arms around her neck as she tapped her chin to his back. Error couldn't help but grin at the infectious glee, standing to the side as Saphira lowered her Rider to the ground.
Little one, unless you wish to choke me, you should loosen your arms.Eragon let go with a continuous smile, moving to scratch behind her jaw on both sides, the dragon's humming reverberating throughout the long tunnel as her eyes lidded. Error retreated to the side, allowing Fresh to bounce up and down on his shoulder as he watched.
