"Vivian hurry up!" My dad yelled from the bottom of the stairs. "Hold on, I'm trying to fix my skirt!" I yelled back. We were hosting a 4th of July barbecue with fireworks for a lot of people, so I wanted to look nice plus Luis and his family are here.

I ran down the stairs and walked out in the back yard. People were swimming in the pool, everyone and their mothers were here. "Emerson where's Luis?" I stopped her as she was walking by. "Out on the beach with all your friends." I gave her a thumbs up and then walked down the path to the beach.

I heard everyone laughing and hanging out. "Vivian you finally decided to join us?" My teammate Landon said opening the gate for me. "Oh shut up." I replied. Natalie ran up to me, "Um warning Logan and his friends are here, their families were invited." I looked at her shocked.

"You aren't pulling my leg are you?" I questioned her. She shook her head and pointed to them. I sighed, "Where's Luis?" I asked her. "Over there." She pointed to Andrew, Luis and Josh. We walked over to them and sat down.

"Hey." My friend Danielle said. I nudged my head up at her then sat next to Luis who was in a distracting conversation. He looked over, "That spots for my girlfriend." He said. "Oh are you expecting your other girlfriend to show up?" I questioned jokingly. "Oh shit my bad!" He said looking over at me.

His mouth dropped, "You look gorgeous." Natalie added. "What she said." Luis said. "Thank you." I smiled. "So the hockey teams coming for your birthday next week?" He asked me. I nodded my head taking his water.

"Look what the cat dragged in." Logan walked over to us. "It's almost like I'm dating the girl who's family is hosting the party." Luis laughed. "And the girl you're dating looks fine as hell right now." Elliot added. "Yeah you're right Elliot she does." Logan smirked at me.

"Shut the hell up." Josh defended me. "Mind if I sit?" Logan asked looking at the chair next to me. "How about you take my seat I gotta go check something." I got up. "What do you have to check." Logan asked me. "If the foods done." I walked back to the path and Logan followed me. "I'll join you, I gotta get a new drink anyways." He said shaking his empty drink.

I rolled my eyes, "You're still with that loser Luis?" He asked me. "No I just flew him and his whole family here for us to not be dating." I said sarcastically. "Just a question." He said raising his hands. I glared at him as we walked into the backyard.

"Go get your drink." I said walking away from him. "Dad, is the food done yet?" I asked my dad who was by the grill. "10 more minutes sweetheart." I walked away and went to find my mom. "Hey, what are you doing Luis is down at the beach." My mom stopped me.

"I just was down there, can you come down there when foods ready?" I asked her. "Yes I will, now go hang out with your boyfriend." She smiled patting my shoulder. I grabbed a drink from the cooler than made my way back down to the beach.

Everyone was now in that little group all hanging out and talking. I sat back down next to Luis, "So Vivian what are you doing for your birthday?" A girl named Jess asked me. "The usual, but less dumb stuff like last year." I replied. Logan was now sitting in the chair next to me.

He put his arm on the back of my chair, "You don't mind do you?" He asked me smirking. "No I don't." I said giving him a stern look. Josh and Luis glared at him, "What?" He asked them rudely. Josh shook his head but Luis kept staring.

"Does your boyfriend have a staring problem?" He asked me. "How about you shut up? It'd make my night." I replied to him. "What?" He asked me confused. "How about obsessing over me, you go get another girlfriend you can treat terribly." He was shook.

"I treated you terribly!?" He shot up out of his seat. I got out of mine, "Not only did you leave me for you female friends, you cheated on me with one!" I yelled at him. He shook his head, "I wasted so much time sulking over what you did to me, and you come back acting like everything you said about me after we broke up was okay!?" I added on.

"Look-" He tried to say. "Save it! I was there every night after she broke up with you and the shit people told her because of it was messed up, you made rumors that were totally uncalled for!" Natalie yelled in his face. Luis was now furious, "Logan why can't you face that she doesn't like you!?" Luis asked him.

"Because I still like her!" He yelled now realizing what he said. "What?" Everyone said. "Yes, I still like you Vivian I always have god I regret cheating on you with every bone in my body. You're gorgeous, your smile lights up a room." He admitted. "I mean you aren't wrong but still!" Luis yelled.

"I know deep down you still like me." He said walking closer to me. "No I don't, because I'm in love with Luis." I replied. "I know what our love looked like." He smiled. "Yeah looked, people change especially after what assholes like you do to them." Josh spoke up.

"When me and Vivian dated I had to make up for everything you screwed up!" Andrew yelled. "Kids foods ready, fireworks start in 20!" An adult yelled from the gate. Luis grabbed my hand and we started walking back to the house. "God I want to punch that asshole." Luis scoffed.

"Chill out Luis, let's just enjoy the rest of our night." He nodded his head and we got our food. "But he cheated on you, and he's still obsessed?" Luis asked me. "Yes." I said as he opened the gate. "Logan and Elliot left." Natalie told me.

"Good." Luis said sitting down on the blanket I brought down. Natalie's boyfriend Luke arrived, she stopped liking Josh after he told her something but she never told me what he said. "Hey Luis." Luke said sitting by him. Josh was sitting next to me, then Andrew, and on Luis' side was Luke then Natalie.

"Try this." Luis said holding up a fork. "Okay." I said eating the food off his fork and chewing it. My eyes lit up, "Good huh?" He asked me smiling. "Yeahs that's amazing." He smiled and went back to eating his food. Emerson and Jake then came and sat down on the blanket.

"I brought your radio." She smiled at me. She turned on the music and it was New Kids on the Block.  The fireworks always launched by the beach more down from the house though. We had the perfect view, one of the best things about living by a beach.

All of the adults eventually came down to the beach but stayed away from the all of us. "Remember the time you and Josh did Summer Nights for karaoke?" Emerson asked me. "Oh hell yeah! We killed you guys." I replied. Josh smiled, "Hell yeah we did." He said softly high-fiving me.

Then the fireworks started, I laid my head on Luis' shoulder as we sat down on a lawn chair together. "This reminds me of when we sat on the beach and watched the sunset." He said looking at me. "Yeah it does, except we don't have the popcorn." I smiled at him.

"Actually we do." He said grabbing a popcorn beside him and setting it on my lap. "God I'm in love with you." I whispered grabbing some popcorn. He was blushing from what I said, I could tell because he was hiding his face from me.

"Luis don't you dare hide your face from me, I don't care if you are blushing." I said looking at him. He sighed and looked at me, "You happy now." He said looking at me. "Yes." I smiled. "Getting your way from me per usual." "Always." I pecked him on the lips.

"Blanket?" I asked him. "Yes." I put the blanket over us. "Hands over the blanket." Emerson said putting her lawn chair next to ours, with Jake obviously trailing behind her. "Same goes for you." I side eyed her jokingly. Jake sat down then Emerson did.

Once the fireworks ended everyone went home besides Natalie, Josh, Jake, then Luis and his family obviously. Andrew wanted to go home because he likes his bed and he missed it. "I'll get the air mattress'!" Natalie yelled walking out of my room.

I laid down in my bed and began eating some gummy worms Luis bought me. He laid down next to me and stuck out his hand, "Don't you have your own bag?" I asked. "Yes but your stuff is better." He gave me a smile that I couldn't resist.

"Whatever." I said giving him some gummy worms. "You want some Josh?" I asked him. "Nah I'm good thanks though." He looked super glum but put on a smile. My dad and Luis dad came in carrying air mattresses with the hair already in them. "Here put them here." My dad said dropping one on the ground then Mr. Mendoza dropping the second one.

Natalie walked in once they walked out, I gave her the mom look. "What!? It's a bonding experience." She said trying to make it better. "The fireworks were awesome weren't they?" I asked everyone. They were all tired so all I got was some unenthusiastic replies.

"Well goodnight love you guys." I said to Natalie and Josh. "Goodnight Vivian." They both said. I turned off the light and turned to face Luis. He then looked at me, "Goodnight my love." He smiled kissing my cheek. I smiled and closed my eyes.
