"I am officially the worst best friend on the entire planet

"I am officially the worst best friend on the entire planet."

I hear mamá sigh. "Mi amor, don't say that."

"It's true! I don't know what to get Asteria for her twentieth birthday! I mean the woman got me a car. A. Fucking. Car." I've been pacing back and forth in the living room for almost ten minutes now, contemplating what on earth I should give my best friend I've known since I was two.

"Has she anything in particular that she may want?"

"No and that's the problem! I swear my hair will fall out if I don't think of something."

"Princesa, whatever you do . . . do not let that happen. Remember that you got your hair from me! I'll be damned if I let my daughter lose one of the two only things that makes her look so much like me."

"My God, Elijah. How many fucking times do I need to tell you! She is a carbon copy of you!"

I groan, laying my head down on the kitchen island, knowing that my parents are about to argue who I look more alike to. And when I say argue, I mean they just bicker because they'll keep throwing any excuse on my facial features. Whenever this type of conversation is brought up, I just mind my own business because I can't side with either of them.

"Elijah fucking Castillo, both of our children look like you! The only thing that Dominic got from me was my eye color!"

"But our hair colors got combined and created Dominic's dark brown hair!"

What the fuck are they even talking about now?

Oh and something else about this little argument between them, it always and I mean always starts with both my parents spitting facts but it'll soon have them forming the type of sentences that don't even make sense within a few seconds.
