Part 5 Mother's Approach
Simran looked at Arvind who smiled at her awkwardly.
"Uncle, who is she?" she asked frowning.
"I too don't know beta. Let's Chotte come, settling her in Anju's room. I will ask him"
"Didn't Arnav say anything to you about the girl?"
"Not yet"
"oh..."
They waited for Arnav.
In the meanwhile,
Arnav came to Anjali's room with Khushi and Anjali. Anjali went to the cupboard and removed a dress. She handed it to Khushi.
"You look tired. Go and get fresh" Anjali said.
Khushi nodded ok.
"Don't hesitate to ask me anything" Anjali said.
Khushi again nodded ok.
"We will just come... feel free" Anjali looked at Arnav.
"Lock the door, Khushi" Arnav insisted.
Khushi again nodded ok.
The sister and the brother walked towards the exit. They stopped hearing,
"Thank you"
They looked at Khushi who looked vulnerable. They smiled at her and left the room. Khushi locked the door and went to the washroom.
Downstairs
Arvind was pacing here and there whereas Ratna was sitting on the couch not reacting. In fact, she didn't want to react without knowing anything. The LESSON she learned from her son once made her think so.
They saw Arnav and Anjali coming. Ratna stood from the couch.
"Chotte, who is Khushi? How do you know her? Where did you meet her? Why did you bring her here?" Arvind arrowed those questions.
Before Arnav said anything,
"Why are you getting tension? Won't he tell you? Relax and sit" Ratna chided him.
"No, Ratna... I just..."
"I said, sit"
Arvind sighed and sat on the couch. Anjali smiled whereas Simran frowned, seeing Ratna dominating Arvind. But she never saw Ratna raising her voice on Arnav.
"Dad, because of her father, I'm alive today..." Arnav said calmly.
"What are you saying?" Arvind shocked.
The other trio was also in the same state.
"Yes, Dad..."
Arnav narrated to them how he met Khushi and what happened in Lucknow. He didn't tell them about Vijay Singh's son's revenge-filled words, 'your death will happen in my hands'. Arnav didn't want to make them scared.
"How heartless those men are... how could they think of marrying her to an old man?" Anjali said.
"They seem indeed heartless..." Ratna said.
"You did a very good job by bringing her to Delhi, Chotte. We will make needed arrangements for Khushi" Arvind said.
"Yes, uncle, there are many good women's hostels in Delhi. You can find one for her" Simran told the same as Aman but both had a lot of differences.
Arnav frowned at Simran whereas Arvind was embarrassed. This time also Ratna took lead.
"No... in Khushi's matter, the decision should be taken by only Chotte..." she said looking straight, hinting at Simran to stay away from the matter.
