Chapter Six

Maia sat in her dorm ane sighed. She knew that everything was a mess. She hated it. She didn't know how to deal with it. She knew that it scared her.

Maia looked up as Grace walked in and smiled. Grace looked to her.  "Are you okay? I know that a lot had happened. But you are my best friend. I am here for you. This will be okay. Just don't push me away," she said as she sat on the bed.

Maia looked to her. She smiled. "I'd never push you away. You're the only person I trust. I know the mess that this is. I know that the dark lord wants me and Snape to become a thing. But I just can't do it. I can't keep at this. It's a mess. I know that all of this is down to my father," she told her.

Grace sat back on the bed next to her. She smiled. "And isn't he a joy to be with? You know how he feels about me and Draco. I know it's a mess. But I am here for you. I love you. We will get through this together. We can do this," she said.

Maia smiled. She rested a head on Grace's shoulder. The two of them sat there in silence. Neither of them saying a word.

Maia sat in potions as the end of class arrived. She stood up as Severus looked to her. "Miss Malfoy. A word," he said as she looked to him and sighed.

Maia looked as Grace walked off with Draco. She sighed as she crossed her arms over her chest. She looked to him. "What is it?" She asked.

Severus walked over to her and looked to her. "I wanted to see how you are. I know that taking that potion was a big deal with you. But I am here to support you. I know that you don't trust me. But i am here for you," he told her.

Maia looked to him and sighed. "It's not that I don't trust you. It's that I don't trust my father. when it comes to the dark lord. I know that my father will screw me over to get what he wants. He's already on edge with my mother and my brother. I just don't know what to think. Look whatever you do, don't screw me over. I may be a Malfoy. But trust me. I won't be screwed over. I am not going to be punished because of my father," she told him.

Severus looked to her and nodded. "I won't let you down. I promise."

Maia sat in the common room. She looked to see Draco as he walked in.

She looked to him. She sighed and shook her head. "Please tell me that you aren't fighting with Grace again. You are an idiot if you are. Don't let our father get in your head," she told him.

Draco sighed. "It's not that easy. And you know it."

"Oh I do. But I know that Grace is the best thing that happened to you. So don't lose her," Maia said as she stood up and walked off.

Maia had no idea just how much more complicated things were going to get.
