Mei's car pulled into the parking lot of Moon-River Museum and they both got out of the car. The evening sun had just set and there was a nice orange hue in the sky. Tash took a moment to appreciate the skyline. Could any of the 'art' inside be prettier than this moment right now?

They had just stepped foot inside when a curse escaped Mei's lips. Tash almost laughed at the contrast. Stepping into this highfalutin space and first word she heard was 'fuck'

"I forgot my phone in my car. I'll go grab it real quick. Yeah?" Mei asked, almost as if asking Tash's permission.

"Go. I'm fine" Tash chuckled.

Mei was pushing her car door in when she saw Keva pulled in next to her. All the doors of his car opened. She saw Laryn step out from the front and her parents from the back. Her face darkened when her and Laryn's eyes met. They both feigned a smile at each other for the sake of their association that dates back to their school days. Keva had noticed Mei and urged Laryn and her parents to go ahead.

He was anxious to find out if she had already picked up Tasha but he never got the chance to get a word out.

"You fucker" Mei had been waiting to attack since the doors of his car opened.

"Not now Mei" he sighed out.

She grabbed his arm. "When are you going to take a fucking decision for yourself?"

Keva, "What do you want me to say?"

"I don't want you to say anything. I want you to stop being a coward before it's too late." She stormed away from him and into the museum.

He took his time to walk to the entrance trying to clear his mind before he got there. He only had one destination now. He crossed the threshold of the entrance. There she was.

*

Her eyes glued to a painting on the wall. He was instantly glad that he chose to leave that one up. He looked at her side profile. Her hair hung loose and dangled against the roomy white shirt she was wearing. The back of the cotton garment hung down covering her butt but he could see the front was tucked into the washed out jeans that tightly hugged her legs. She paired all of this with red heeled boots that stopped just above her ankles. She felt eyes on her and turned. She locked eyes with him. He was quick to notice her shoes were not the only thing that was red. A few buttons were left open in front. If he had a say, maybe one too many. The way her cleavage popped with the outline of her red bra teasing. He sighed in admiration, with just the tiniest bit of sadness. Nothing he could have bought her would make her look as glorious as she did right now. She pursed her blood red lips at him from across the room. He made his way over to her and her kohl black eyes lowered under his gaze.

Flustered, she turned back and fixed her eyes on the painting waiting for him to reach her. She felt his presence behind her and heard the words, "Come to my office"

Tash walked into his office and he had propped himself up on his desk waiting.

"You left it up" she stated, a pleasing smile on her face.

"For you."

She smirked intently and reached into his jacket wrapping her hands around his waist, "It doesn't even suit your theme."

"It suits my theme perfectly. It's about love so strong it leaves a legacy behind. Family begins with love and ends with legacy."

Tash raised her eyebrows in amusement, "Is that the argument you made to your staff for why Hero and Leander should stay up in an exhibition that's about family and legacy?"

Keva nodded his head pliantly, "And clearly they agreed."

She had so many things she itched to tell him. "I'm sorry," was all she got out.

"Why?" he pulled her in to stand between his legs, as if to secure her there.

"I never asked you enough questions...but now I have like a million I want to ask you"

Keva laughed, "Like what?"

She fidgeted with the chain that hung loosely from his neck, the 'A' shaped pendant resting just above his abdomen. "Like everything. I wanna know everything from the moment you were born. Starting with time did you pop out?"

His shoulders moved slightly up and down as he giggled silently at her, "Do you have to say it like that?"

"You know what I mean," she stuck her tongue out at him.

"I will answer all of them. I have a week off before I start at the company officially. Get ready to get fed up of seeing my face."

She nodded happily.

🌸

"I should go out now. Before somebody comes looking for me."

There is something different about the way she is looking at me.

She looks so good. And she is wearing the nose ring I gave her. It's so perfect on her. Does she have something she wants to tell me? Will she say it back? Should I say it again? It doesn't matter, something feels different. I feel like she has finally accepted me. I'll give her time.

Sigh. Is Mei right? Do I? Or is he just really pretty?

I feel like there's so much I want to suddenly say to him. Now is not the best time I know. I should wait. Can we stay in here and just talk? No, he needs to be out there.

I'll let him go.

"I didn't ask because I didn't want to know or wasn't interested in you, I didn't ask because the less you know, the easier it is to forget."

*

Keva, "You wanted to forget?"

Tash, "Not anymore. I want to know."
