Thou Art Stupid.

Tash was in the process of gathering 'evidence' for her analysis for the essay she was outlining. She wasn't quite sure what stance she would take yet. There was a bit of freedom because the student got to pick the type and genre of work they wanted to use as excerpts to make their point in the essay. So, she was considering using what has somehow managed to become a great work of literature when it comes to the theme of love: Romeo and Juliet.

The problem for Tash here was that she hated Romeo and Juliet. In fact, she thought they were incredibly stupid. I mean who doesn't check first to confirm someone is dead before you decide to kill yourself too?! She had no problem with dying for each other and for love. Rather she thought it was quite admirable of the two lovers. She had a major problem with their stupidity. She also had several thoughts about that falling in love in three days' business. These were the thoughts flooding her head as she was leaving campus today when the brightest shade of red caught her eye and quickly scattered all her thoughts on the matter.

?!? Is that the car? Why is it-

And then, there he was. He stepped out of the car. Long sleeved white shirt, black dress pants and white sneakers. Even though there was a fair amount of distance between them right now, Tash was quick to notice a few details. The top two buttons of his shirt were open and so the chain around his neck caught her eye along with the rings on his middle and index fingers when he closed the car door. Why is he standing there embodying her ideal style in men? The audacity of this thing! And so, Tash found herself infuriated at the sight of him until she noticed that he was...approaching her?!?

"Hi" he walked up and said like it was the most normal thing to do

"Hi" he walked up and said like it was the most normal thing to do.

Tash looked behind her thinking perhaps that professor was there because he has no business talking to her right now. But there was no professor. Just Tash.

"...Hi.." Tash replied.

"Uhh are you headed to the coffee shop?" he asked again, as if it was normal.

Tash was now up in arms, "I'm sorry?"

"The coffee shop?" he repeated.

Indeed that was where she was headed so all Tash could say was, "Yes."

"Do you mind if I walk with you there?" He kept saying things that were not abnormal things to say but blew her mind as she heard them.

"I - No, it's a free road. You can walk as you wish." She kept her composure and replied.

Tash could swear she heard a chuckle but she wasn't sure because she was looking straight ahead and definitely not in his direction.

"Indeed it is," he said.

As if this situation wasn't awkward enough the traffic light turned red and now she was stuck at the crosswalk waiting for these stupid vehicles to pass.

"Can I ask your name, Miss...?" Why does he keep saying things to her?

Tash, "You can ask."

"..."

There was that chuckle again. This time she was sure it was him.

"I see... What is your name?" he forfeited.

"Tash...Tasha." She finally looked at him.

She hated that she found herself looking up at him. He had a few inches on her. He was maybe about 5'9" or 5'10".

"Tash..." he rolled off his tongue. "Tash like Natasha?" he then asked.

"No! Tash like Tasha --" Why was she explaining her name? "I'm sorry but do you want something?" she fired at him.

That attitude, he recognized it from yesterday in the coffee shop.

"No." he said simply, eyes glimmering.

"..."

Tash must admit she didn't see that coming. If he didn't want anything then what was happening right now?

"And yes..." he then said, looking right at her.

Tash unwittingly did a double take, "...What?"

The stop light turned green but the lights in her head were blinking red right now. Suddenly a push from someone waiting to cross, jolted her and so she quietly walked across the road with him walking by her side.

She mentally prepared for what he was gonna ask her next when they were across the road. Who knows what this thing is gonna say next? Tash did not like this situation one bit. She did not appreciate being unguarded. How dare he leave her at a loss for words? No one does that. Especially not this entitled brat. 'Oh, it's on!' she thought and perhaps she didn't realize it but a tiny smile appeared on her face. A smile that did not go unnoticed by said entitled brat.
