Peter
Siren's father was exactly how I expected him to be.
Scary, tall, and angry.
″Did you kidnap my son?″ He suddenly asked me. The guards next to him immediately clenched their spears in their hands as the words left his lips. My eyes widened as I began shaking my head, holding up my hands in front of me as I looked between Siren and his father.
″I went there willingly. Didn't you want to bring him here in the first place? Why are you acting like this?″ Siren asked him. He then furrowed his eyebrows in my direction, bringing a tanned, larger hand up to his face as he stared at me with a distant stare.
″Peter. If you mind me asking, do you have any illnesses?″ He finally muttered to me. Siren scoffed at his words, crossing his arms across his chest as he looked at his father with a look of resentment. Why was he asking me this? Maybe he's asking for the sake of his kingdom. I know that in my town if someone was sick... they had to be sent away. Severely sick, at least. Mermen and mermaids aren't immortal, right?
″No, sir. I'm very well.″ I replied to him.
″You don't have any physical problems with your back? Did you feel any force holding you back from entering MY kingdom?″ He asked, his voice growing angrier as each word left his mouth. I instantly shook my head no out of fear, his dark purple eyes slowly shining brighter- something that reminded me of Siren. Siren must have gotten it from him... I wonder if his sisters have the same? Does it run in the family?
″My brother is the one with back problems. He was born with it-″
″Your brother?″ He asked, abruptly turning himself back towards me. I nodded my head, trying my best not to burst into tears at the gaze he was sending my way.
I was so confused and scared... he wasn't making this easier. I don't think I want to be here. I want to go home.
″Father, you're scaring him. He just got here, you know-″
″The Abrecan family was cursed due to your treasonous father. His firstborn and ONLY born with Oona was to be forever crippled and banned from the sea's floor. Oona was cursed to only have one child.″ He muttered to himself, but loud enough for Siren and I to hear. My eyes widened at his words, instantly looking back at Siren in confusion.
″Put him in the dungeon. Find this child's mother this instant. She's obviously still alive and aware of what crimes she has done with that bastard Cain.″
The guards immediately grabbed ahold of my arms, a gasp of fear escaping my throat as I tried to reach out for Siren. They forcefully pulled my arms back, holding them in place as they put handcuffs on my wrists.
″WHAT ARE YOU DOING! YOU'RE THE ONE WHO SENT HIM DOWN HERE! YOU SAID YOU WANTED TO WELCOME HIS CHILDREN BACK INTO THE KINGDOM, YOU PRICK!″ Siren screamed out at his father as we left the room. He scoffed at his words, the last sentence leaving his throat with a ping of disgust.
″That child is in fact Cain's son- but that is NOT Oona's kid. We don't know what we are dealing with, Siren.″

Peter
What does he mean Oona isn't my mom?... well, Emma.
I laid on the floor of the dungeon, picking up the rocks that laid by my side and throwing them aimlessly against the cold, rock wall that sat across from me.
