I woke up and stretched myself out and grabbed my phone cursing myself it was still on mute and i had missed a bunch of calls from my family. I called ma back and after a few seconds she answered.

"Are you okay?" Was the first thing she said.

"I am fine ma. Sorry i didn't answer the phone." I sighed.

"It's okay, we missed you yesterday...." Ma said and a wave of guilt washed over me.

"I am sorry ma; I just needed some space...."  I whispered.

She let out a sigh. "Chris, you know Shanna didn't mean it like that and that Scott was just joking around...." She said coming to their defense.

"I know but i was done with it and knew if i stayed it would get out of hand." I said taking a deep breath.

I was tempted to tell what happened last night but kept it to myself not wanting them to but in again.

"As long as i know you are okay..." Ma said pulling me out of my thoughts.

"I am fine ma... I'll see you soon." and we hung up.

Dodger jumped on the bed his face in my face as to say get up and i chuckled pulling him closer cuddling him. He started to wriggle and i gave up. "Okay buddy... I'll get up."

I got in the shower had some breakfast and went for a walk with Dodger. In the afternoon i met up with some friends had some dinner in our favorite diner and went back home.  They asked me to go out with them but i rather went to the dog park not wanting to miss an opportunity to talk to Flo.

I looked at the time and decided to head down early not wanting to miss her. I put an overly excited Dodger in the car and drove to the dog park. I got out and walked to the same spot sitting down on the bench. Dodger sniffed around a bit. I was sitting there for about 45 minutes convinced she wasn't going to show when i saw to dogs running by as fast as the wind greeting Dodger and i smiled. I looked up when i heard her sweet voice.

"Mind if i sit?"  She said a shy smile on her face.

"Of course." I said smiling at her.

She sat down and we looked at the dogs who were running around jumping over each other chasing each other.

"How was your day?" I asked desperate to learn more about her.

"Busy." She said smiling. "Yours?"

I shrugged my shoulders. "Just met up with some friends nothing more."

"You dont seem so happy about that?" she said.

I looked at her. God i could drown in those beautiful eyes.

"It was alright hadn't seen them in a few months, so it was nice to catch up." I let out a sigh.

"But?" She said smiling at me.

I took a deep breath. "Whenever i go away for work for some time and come back... I forget sometimes that time over here doesn't stand still...."

"Ah." She said smiling. "The i dont know if i fit here anymore feeling."

I looked at her. "Yeah, that is exactly how it feels..." I said surprised. "So, you said you have been busy? what have you been up to?" I asked her curiously.

"I am working on setting up my own vet clinic..." She said smiling shyly looking at her hands.

"Wow that is amazing." I said smiling. God beautiful, sweet and smart Shanna was right I thought to myself.
