It's the next day Flo is working and i am walking through town with the dogs doing some errands before i meet Scott for lunch. I look into a store front and smile as something catches my eye. Without even as sliver of doubt i walk in buy it and walk back out.
I pick up Flo and mines dry cleaning and walk to the lunch cafe where Scott is already sitting at a table tucked away in the back. "You are late...." He says smirking. "Yeah, yeah sorry i uh ..." I sit down, the dogs lay down under the table. "I... uh... bought something."
I pull it out of my pocket and place the little box on the table in front of Scott. He looks at me shocked...
"Chris... is that what i think it is...?" He whispers. "I dont know open it...." He grabs the box and opens it looking up at me with big eyes. "OMG." He yells. "Scott! would you please keep quiet...." I sigh not wanting to attract attention.
"Yeah, yeah sorry." He closes the box again sliding it towards me and i put it back in my pocket. "She is going to love it..." He says smiling. "You think so...?" I ask him blushing a little. "Oh yeah absolutely. When are you going to..." He says but we get interrupted by a waiter bringing us both a menu.
When he is gone i look at Scott. "I dont know yet... it's not like i had planned this.... I saw it and i just.... it was perfect and ... i am not saying i am going to do it tomorrow but if the perfect moment would present itself...." I stammer and Scott smiles. "I am happy for you Chris you two deserve it... You are perfect for each other...." I blush again and look over the menu.
After lunch i take Scott home since he was dropped off by one of my sisters. I get home and do some things around the house when my phone rings. I smile as i see the caller id saying it is Flo. "Hey sweetheart everything okay?" I ask.
"Uhm yeah it is just my car won't start and i was wondering if you could pick me up. It is okay if you can't then i ..." She says but i cut her off. "I'll be there as quick as i can...."
"Okay." She says and i smile as i put my phone away and grab my keys. "Come on boys lets go pick up momma...." The perk up and run with me to the car.
I arrive at the clinic and walk in seeing her sitting behind the reception concentrated on something. "Your taxi has arrived miss...." I say smirking at her as she looks up. "Hey." She says smiling.
"Have you figured out what is wrong with your car?" She shakes her head. "No but the garage will pick it up and tow it so they can check it out i dont know cars enough to figure it out myself...." She says smiling. I chuckle. "Wanna go by the dog park before we go home?" She asks. "If you're up for it... sure." I say smiling.
We get to the park to our familiar spot as the dogs run around. She lets out a sigh laying her head on my shoulder. "This is my favorite place..." She whispers. "Oh yeah... and why is that?" I ask her.
"It is where i first met and talked to you... It is where i first realized you would become someone important in my life...." She murmurs.
I look at her and smile kissing her. I feel in my pocket the little black box burning a hole in my pocket. Could this really be the right time? I think to myself. I stand up and she looks at me confused as i kneel down in front of her.
"Flo... i hadn't planned it so soon... Telling myself after i bought it that i would have it for when the right time came along... But you are right.... this is where everything officially started for the both of us. This place holds a spot in our hearts, although for me ... i fell in love with you the moment i saw you go out running with the dogs. I knew it was meant to be when you came up to me here and talked to me.... Your it for me baby and i know it is soon but God i love you and i dont want to waste time...."
I opened the box showing her the ring. "Flo sweetheart... i love you and i was hoping you would make me the happiest man on earth by marrying me...."
Flo looked at me in shock and with tears in her eyes. "Flo? i need you to say something..." I asked anxiously.
"Yes." She whispered. "Yes.... Yes, i will marry you...." She grabbed my face pulling me into a kiss. When we pulled back i took the ring out of the box putting it on her finger. I kissed her again.
"I love you so much baby..." I whispered. "God i love you to Chris...." She says smiling through her tears. "Do you like the ring?" I whisper. "It is perfect..." She whispered looking at it.
"I know it is not a big rock..." I start to say but she cuts me off. "No, it is perfect really, really perfect..." She said still smiling at me with tears in her eyes.
"I dont like big flashy rings this one is ... just perfect. Besides i can wear this one everywhere even to work... other than during surgery i dont have to take it off. I absolutely love it..." She gave me a sweet kiss before i sat back down next to her grabbing her hand lacing it with mine.
She laid her head back on my shoulder as we sat there both of us content in our own thoughts but together... After about half an hour we decided to go home and pick up some food along the way. I smiled as Flo was looking at her ring with a big smile on her face. "Can't wait for you to be Mrs. Evans..." I said putting my hand on her thigh squeezing her slightly. "Can't wait to be Mrs. Evans...." She whispers back.
