The last months went by way too quick since my movie came out. It was actually doing really, really well and i got some offers for directing other movies. The biggest shock to me was that it was submitted for an Oscar. I just couldn't believe it the day they let me know i was in shock the whole day. Flo had said she wasn't surprised.
Christmas went by so did new year's which we celebrated with the whole family. Oscar was now walking and a handful always racing of somewhere, but we loved it. He was becoming quiet the character. I have a few people i worked with over at the house and we are sitting in my office on the phone waiting for a call to hear if we are nominated for the movie.
I am a nervous wreck. Flo walks in with drinks handing them to all of us before she sits down in my lap. "You now watching the phone won't make it ring faster..." She says smiling before giving me a quick kiss. I sigh as i hold onto her a little tighter. "We know..." I hum. I rub circles on Flo's back to ease my anxiety as all of a sudden, the phone rings. We all look at the phone and nobody is moving. "Oh, for god's sake is no one going to answer?" Flo says. She sighs and leans over. "Flo Evans speaking..." She says smirking. "Yes, he is here hold on..." She hands me my phone and i listen to the person on the other line talking.
When i hang up i look around the room. "8 nominations..." I whisper. Flo looks at me and smiles kissing me as the rest jumps up and scream. "Best movie, Best actor leading role, Best actress leading role, best actress in supporting role, Best costume design, Best make-up and hair, Best production design and Best director." I say still not believing it.
"You deserve it baby..." She says smiling. "I am so proud of you... Even with everything that happened you gave it your all...." I can feel tears coming as i hold on to Flo even tighter her words hitting me hard.
"I couldn't have done it without you..." I whisper before she kisses me again. "Just remember no matter if you win or not... To me and Oscar... You are number one... and you already got the best Oscar ever..." I smile and kiss her again.
"I am going to get the champagne..." She says smirking as she glides off of my lap. She comes back with a bottle i have never seen. "I bought this for this occasion..." She says smiling. "That was a bit forward..." I say smiling. She shakes her head. "I had faith in all of you..." She says smiling around the room.
She hands me the bottle and i open it and pouring everyone a glass. We toast and have a drink of the champagne. About an hour later everybody leaves and i smile and hug Flo.
"I am so proud of you..." She says smiling. "How proud..." I say smirking as i push her playfully towards the bedroom. We arrive in the bedroom and just as i am about to undress her Oscar starts crying.
"Your other Oscar needs attention..." She says smirking. "Cock blocker..." I sigh and Flo laughs. "I dont think you can complain in that department..." She says swatting my chest.
"Not at all..." I say smirking. "I'll go feed him..." She says and walks out. I smile as i hear her talking to Oscar telling him about the nominations before she takes him to the kitchen to feed him.
I walk to my office and call my family and tell them about the nominations. They all congratulate me. When i hang up my phone rings and i see it is Robert. I answer.
"Congratulations Dorito..." He says in a way only he can. We talk for a bit before i hang up and walk to the kitchen where Flo and Oscar are laughing. Oscar is covered in food and i can't help but laugh. Even if i dont win... I already have by having them they are the biggest prices in my life.
The next few weeks are filled with looking for outfits for the Oscars, Flo has picked a dress refusing to tell me what kind only that it is black and that it is a surprise. Ma and my sister keep teasing me about it saying i will go crazy making me slightly worried. Ma is flying with us to LA to help with Oscar as we are going to be busy surrounding the award show.
I sigh as i sit in my office trying to write an acceptance speech in case i win... Not that i think i will win knowing who we are up against. This is harder than it looks as i dont know where to start with all people i have to thank....
I smile as i hear Flo and Oscar coming towards my office. "Hello daddy..." Flo says in a baby voice. "Oscar and i wanted to know if you would like to come out for a walk with the dogs...?"
I smile and throw my pen aside. "I would love to..." I say smirking. We get dressed and take off for a nice relaxing walk just enjoying a moment of calm before the whole crazy train leaves the station.
