I originally had planned a big birthday dinner for Flo with friends and family but because of everything that happened i had decided to have a chef cook at the house and just have a nice dinner with Flo. I had bought her a necklace with Oscar's birthstone in a locket and when you opened it there was a picture of him and i in it. I had it engraved with the same simple text that was on my watch. We love you, Chris and Oscar. I also had bought her favorite flowers and had made a print of Oscars hand and foot in plaster. I had taken the day off and was home with Oscar while she was getting pampered, i had sent her to a spa to get spoiled the whole nine yards. I also had one other surprise for her...well for me and her... I was a little bit giddy about it.
I was talking to the chef when my phone rang and i saw it was the detective calling. If i had been alone and not had the chef in my house i would have start crying as he tells me, they have arrested Kayla. She was hiding out in a friend's house hoping everything would die down. It was like a weight was lifted of my shoulders and i couldn't have gotten a better birthday present for Flo then this...peace of mind. The only thing Flo had to do was come to the station to identify her in a line up. I asked if it could be done tomorrow explaining that it was Flo's birthday today. It was no problem she had to be questioned and processed anyway.
Of course, there would be a trial, but she was locked up and we could breathe again. "Everything okay?" The chef cooking asked me when i had hung up. I smiled. "Yeah, everything is perfect..." I said. I promised Flo i would pick her up from the spa so i went to get Oscar ready to head out the door. I called Harry telling him that Kayla was arrested and that i was going to pick up Flo without him.
I had gotten Oscar ready and told the chef i was right back as i was going to pick up Flo and if he needed anything to call. He smiled shaking his head telling me he would be okay complimenting the kitchen. I smiled telling him that it was all Flo she had rearranged the kitchen making it work for her as she was the one cooking the most. I put Oscar in his car seat and got in myself driving to the spa.
I was waiting at the parking lot and smiled when Flo came walking out in a beautiful summer dress looking relaxed. I got out and greeted her. "You're alone..." She asked shocked and i nodded with a big smile on my face as i pulled her in my arms kissing her passionately. "Does this mean that??" She said looking up at me as we broke our kiss. I nodded.
"They called me an hour ago that they arrested her...." I said with the biggest smile. Flo started sobbing letting out a big sigh of relief. "It's okay baby... She can't hurt us anymore... We can go back to sort of normal...."
I told her that she needed to identify her tomorrow and she sighed but i could see she was ready for it. She was ready for it to be all over and if that was needed to lock her up, she was going to make sure of it.
"Did you have a relaxing day?" I ask her as we drive home. She looked at me smiling. Oscar had fallen asleep in the back and Flo hadn't stopped smiling ever since i told her Kayla was arrested. We walked through the front door the smell of delicious food surrounding us. "If you go get changed for our dinner... I put Oscar to bed and then meet me in the kitchen for your birthday dinner..." She smiled. "I have just the dress for it..." She said smirking.
I put a sleeping Oscar in his crib and change quickly in his room. I had put my outfit in his room to change into so Flo could change in our bedroom. I walked out to the kitchen after i was done where the chef was putting the last finishing touches on the food. He explained everything before wishing us a good night and leaving.
I heard the sound of heals coming through the hallway and when i turned around Flo stood in front of me in a black lace dress looking absolutely gorgeous. "Damn baby... You look... Absolutely stunning." I said pulling her into my arms and kissing her passionately. "Food smells good..." She says after we broke the kiss. I grabbed her hand leading her to the table that was all set up. I help her sit down and walk to the kitchen to get the first course.
I put the plates in front of us and smiled as she looked at licking her lips. "Looks good baby..." She said smiling. "To be fair i didn't cook i had a chef come in and cook...." She chuckled. "Before we eat i have a little surprise..." I said smiling kneeling down beside her handing her a box. She smiled taking it from me and opening it. She had tears in her eyes as she looked at the necklace.
"Chris it is beautiful." She said wiping away her tears. "It's Oscar's birthstone with a picture of me and him in it..." I say taking the necklace and opening it up. She looked at me smiling with tears in her eyes. "It is perfect Chris..." She whispers leaning in for a sweet kiss. She turned over the locket crying even more when she reads the back. I stand up take the necklace and put it around her neck. I plant a little kiss under her ear after i put the necklace around her neck. "Happy birthday baby..." I whisper. "Thank you..." She whispered. I lean down to kiss her again. "Glad you like it baby...." I say kissing her. "Now let's eat i have another surprise but that is for after dinner...."
