I have been home a week and loved spending time with my family. I was almost every day at ma's and everyday i saw the new neighbor either going for a run or walking the dogs. I wanted to ask ma about her, but i didn't know how to bring her up without my family going all crazy trying to bud in. So, for now i was admiring her from afar. I shook my head at the thought, way to go Chris you are not being creepy at all. We were having dinner with some family, my brother and sisters and their spouses and kids and some cousins. The house was chaos and i felt like i needed a breather. I grabbed a beer from the fridge and walked upstairs sitting on the balcony looking out over the backyard.
All of a sudden i heard a voice yell.
"Ollie! George! Come here."
I looked to the right seeing the new neighbor standing in her backyard wearing nothing more than some shorts and a tank top. The two dogs came running up to her stopping in front of her sitting down.
"Who are my good boys" I could hear her coo.
I smiled as she laid out a blanket and laid down the dogs laying by her each on a side. She grabbed a book and turned on her stomach, propping herself up on her elbows as she started reading. The dogs each laid down their head and slept beside her.
"What are you doing?" I heard a voice behind me and i looked back into the grinning face of Scott.
I blushed. "Nothing just getting away from the chaos for a bit." I said shrugging my shoulders.
Scott looked to where i previous was looking. "A breather huh. Are you sure you weren't creeping on the new neighbor?" He said smirking. "She is really pretty..." Scott continued. "Heck if i wasn't gay i would go after that...."
"I have no idea what you are talking about..." I said standing up. "Let's get back inside." I said walking in and down the stairs.
"Hey, were where you?" Ma asked as i walked into the kitchen. Before i could say anything, Scott interrupted.
"He was ogling the new neighbor." He said smirking.
"Was not..." I said trying my best to not blush.
Ma and Carly looked at each other. "Get it out of your head Chris..." Carly said. "She has no interest in dating. She just broke up with a fiancé." Carly said looking at me serious.
"When we said we had a single brother she shut us down immediately..." Shanna said now joining the conversation.
"You didn't...?" I said letting out an annoyed groan.
"Hey, can't blame us for trying she is gorgeous, sweet, smart and has a good job. Oh, and she looooves dogs. She just moved here from Texas and needed a fresh start. But she wouldn't even let me talk about you, that is how fast she shut me down. Heck i didn't even get a chance to tell your name." Shanna said, while the others just smirked at me.
"You guys need to stop..." I said now feeling really annoyed. "I am perfectly capable to find someone myself not that i am interested or looking. When it comes on my path it will come and otherwise i am perfectly fine on my own."
Shanna scoffed. "Can't wait for you to bring the next bimbo actress home." She said rolling her eyes.
"Okay kids that is enough." ma said.
"I need some air." I said looking angry at Shanna.
"Have fun spying on the new neighbor." Scott yelled after me.
"Oh, bite me, Scott." I yelled back. I walked into the yard and Dodger came running up to me. I sat down on the steps of the porch, and he sat next to me putting his head in my lap. I petted him and he closed his eyes. "Just the two of us." I said still petting him, running all the new information i got from my family about this women trough my head.
