Shame on us

"Peter I think coming here was a big mistake" his wife told him and Peter give her a confused look. What does she mean by that? It was she wasnt glad that she got to see her daughter again after the whole leaving the family affair?

"Whats wrong Lois?" He ask staring at her like she was nuts. Lois sigh deeply, knowing Peter was just as oblivous as he normally is.

"Meg oblivous doesnt want us to be here and she makes it clear on it. Dont you understand? She hates us and she lost her trust on us!" Lois cries painfully and Peter winced "I cant blame her for it which the worst part! We were just bullies instead of being parents to our daughter, we ruined her to the point where she didnt feel welcome enough to live in the house, and came by here. Now our grandson is kidnapped and she didnt feel safe enough to tell us" She ranted.

"Lois calm down!" Peter knew that his wife was at her limits so calming her down was his best choice of action "Take a deep breath" Lois tries multiple times until she felt her body stop shaking completely.

"Lois?" Peter's voice was rough with concern and she look up to him with a broken look etch on her face. He hated when she gets like this..when she has no motivation to continue on.

"Where do we go wrong Peter? Tell me" she spoke blankly without showing any emotions. What has gotten to Lois? This was freaking him out on the inside.

"Everything" he said lowly realizing full circle of what she was talking about. They made Meg the way she is because of them. If they didnt treat her like shit..maybe just maybe she would have been a different person.

"Excatly..shame on us" Lois lean against Peter's chest as he held her tightly, not noticing tears running down on his face.

Shame on them for being everything that parents should not have been.

Shame on them for everything.
