Parker's POV:
I opened my eyes to a sore body, two marks, and an empty bedroom. I wanted to be mad about the second mark but I could feel the difference in Percy. I had more control over him and he wasn't fighting me on that. I sat up with a wince before heading into the bathroom. I used the toilet and brushed my teeth before slipping into the closet and pulling on tight sweatpants, sneakers, a dark long sleeve shirt, and a baseball hat pulled down over my eyes.
Now that I was in control my objective was the same. Find Connor. Kill Connor. I took a deep breath and left the closet. I walked to the balcony doors and turned, shutting them as quietly as I could. I made it to the railing and started to climb over when I jumped at the voice coming from the left side of the balcony.
"Really? Gonna jump and break a leg again?"
I closed my eyes and sighed. I quickly pulled my leg back over the railing and turned to face Ryan.
"Why couldn't I sense you out here?"
"I blocked our link. Matt and Carter are guarding the front, Carla and Sophia are on the back. My father's are watching in the forest. I didn't think that would be the end of your fight."
"He killed a little girl, and five other people. Injured 2 dozen more, including my brother. I have to find him and end this."
"Did you ever think that he is doing this to draw you out?"
"I did."
"You were in a coma for six weeks. A week after you wake up, he's attacked your brother's pack. It's clearly trying to get you to come after him."
I swiped a hand over my mouth. "I know. Okay. I know. But I don't care. I can't let him get away with this."
He swirled his cup of what looked like whiskey before taking a sip and staring me down. "You know when you told me what He did to you and you begged me not to say anything... Maybe I should have listened to you. Calvin almost killed you, and now Connor is trying to drag you out because he knows he'd never get close enough to you here."
I shook my head. "It's not your fault. Colin.... Calvin would have come after me because I let you mark me. Connor would have gotten involved at some point. Whether to shut me up or help Calvin use me again." I shrugged.
"And yet you still want to go find him and pick a fight." He shook his head and drank the rest of his drink before he set the cup down and stood up.
"He hurt people... people I care about to get to me. He killed the one child that was close to me. She was my fucking GodDaughter, Ryan." I was practically begging him to understand.
"So wouldn't the better plan be to go to her funeral. Show you actually fucking loved her?"
"Everybody knows how much I loved her. Besides Derek she was the only person I allowed to touch me. She died because he wanted to get to me. I can't show my face to my Cousin. Not until I avenge her death. Even then... it won't be enough. That pack will hate me. My family will hate me."
"No one hates you. No one is blaming you. Derek called while you were... out. Your cousin, Lyla, wants you there. She sent you a video."
"No." I headed for the door.
He stepped in front of me and blocked the door. "You need to see it."
I kept my head down so he couldn't see my face. He pulled his phone out and tapped on it before he handed it to me. I took the phone and turned away from him. I hit play as I walked back to the railing. The video started with a teary eyed Lyla.
