Chapter 6 ~ The Heart's Game of Cards

Third Person POV:

The ninja were still walking around. They finally made it out of the mushroom forest where they met a very odd, but kind of rude, blue caterpillar. They all sigh in relief and disappointment, as they reach the outside of the forest. They can't tell if they are getting closer or farther from, where Zane sensed a town down the way they went. "Zane, are we almost there?", Nya asks, annoyed. Zane looks around then, turns to Nya and the others, "We should be there soon. We might make it later at night though."

The ninja groan as a reply.

"Oh! We're never gonna find Kai at this rate! How do we even know if he's in that town? What if he's not? What if the people there don't even know who he is? WHAT IF HE WAS AT A DIFFERENT DIRECTION?! WHAT IF--"

"JAY!! We get it!", Lloyd interrupts, "Right now we just have to focus on finding Kai! No matter what." Cole stands in, "Yeah! Even if it takes a whole year to find him! We're ninja! We've been through worse situations than this!", Jay just sighs as he calms himself down from his ranting. But Cole is yelling and panicking, like Jay, inside. I mean, how would you feel or act if the love of your life is in danger, and you haven't even told them that you liked them?! Cole is one example.

They rest for another 5 minutes and continue their journey.

Once they make it to the town they realize it was a kingdom, since there was a castle in the middle of the town. There was an wooden arch on top in front of the town saying 'Welcome to the Kingdom of Hearts!'. As the ninja look around. They see very few houses with lights on. "So what now, Lloyd?", Nya asks as she and the others stop to make a plan. Lloyd knew what she meant. They were all tired of walking and needed a place to sleep.

He thinks as he looks up to them as a light bulb lit on top of his head, "Maybe we can ask the people who might still be awake. Or find a hotel?" "Do they even have hotels in this realm? This looks like an old town Kingdom...", Jay points out. "But some kingdoms with small or big towns would have hotels... Just not with a lot of service.", Zane states, answering Jay's question.

Nya turns to her right to see a worried Cole. She places a hand on his shoulder, which made him jump with wide eyes as he whips his head to face her, "Oh... Nya... You scared me a bit... What were we talking about again?" "Cole... Are you okay?", She says in a soothing voice. Cole looks down, head turning to the other side. He sighs, "I'm just worried about Kai... What if he's hurt? We don't know what's dangerous and what's not!"

Lloyd steps forward, "We're all worried about him, Cole... But we have to trust Kai. He can handle and protect himself. I'm sure he's just as worried about us as we are worried about him"

Cole takes a breath then nods. Lloyd looks to the others, "Alright let's start looking for a place to rest."

The show faces of determination and trying not to complain about loosing the sleep they need and want so badly.

~Meanwhile with Kai~

Kai was fighting the monsters that were in the forest he found before. Unfortunately, its a bit difficult to fight in a dress, even if it is up to his thighs. During the fight with the first corrupted person, he realized that fire melts the dark matter stuff.

I mean, fire IS a sign of light. And what beats darkness? Light. Kai was struggling trying not to light the forest on fire. Especially when Nya is still in Ninjago. Or do he thoughts. He jumps over on a tree to avoid the last corrupted person. As he sees the black demon scratching the trunk of the tree.

Good thing corrupting powerful people takes a lot of brain power, Kai mocks the demon by thought. He lights his hand on fire and jumps off the tree, facing the back on the corrupted demons back. Once he lands, the demon turns and he shoots fire right at it. He blows his fingers like he used a gun blowing away the smoke from firing. He smirks as he sees smoke from the melting black but, thick, solid liquid falling off the person as she falls.
