Chapter 16 ~ Deaths and Dreams

Third person POV:

Silence...

Nothing..... but silence.....

They didn't know how this happened.....

Once they awakened with their senses back..... The sound of fire filled their ears....

The wind blowing strongly through their hair.....

Their eyes lay on a cottage.... Which is the home of their friend they have met days ago....

Fire is spread all around it..... Or what's left of it.....

I...... I'm sorry.....

Cole........

Cole..!

Cole!

COLE!!!!

His eyes widen at the scared, yet familiar, voice calling his name. He turns to see his best friend, Jay, calling him. He soon grabbed his head as he tried to stand. He sways as he tries to remember what caused this. His memories seemed foggy. Remembering nothing of how this event happened. Cole heard coughing from where he saw Jay. He looked back and saw the others behind him coughing from the smoke. He sees Nya with, a passed out, White Rabbit on her lap. Zane and the cat guy from before trying to check on her. Jay stands, continuously trying to talk to him. Wanting a response back. The master of earth felt his throat being too dry to even speak. He looked around for Lloyd and Kai.

"Cole! Are you okay??!" His best friend asks, worriedly.

Cole couldn't focus. He kept looking, turning his head to see what he can through the fires and the smoke, searching for his friend and boyfriend. He then saw Lloyd running with his mask on. It sounded like he was saying something but Cole was in too much pain to understand. He grunted as he felt something thick and warm dripping from his head. He reached his hand onto it, and when he being his hand back down, he sees blood.

Blood.......

He snapped his head up. Only to be tackled by Lloyd and keeping him down. Cole looked up and saw....

"White.... fire....?" Cole whispered roughly. His eyes filled with horror. As soon as it stopped Lloyd got off of him, "Cole... Are you alright?" His leader reached a hand down but realized Cole's eyes were too focused towards....

"Kai...?"

Kai slowly came out of the burning cottage. Cole was confused. They thought that he was surely free from the Puppet Masters' control. He even seems like it. Kai still wearing the dress given to him by White Rabbit, yet was scorched and a little burnt out. Same with his white stockings and the bow on his head. His hair was down and being blown by the strong wind. The way he was walking was definitely unnormal. His head was down, barely able to see his face. Though able to see the tears falling from his eyes to his chin. His hands were lit with fire. Though his left hand was the average colored fire, while his right was the white fire from Kugutsu.

Kai lifts his head a little. His mouth becoming visible as he continues to walk forward. As he walks, his mouth goes from a frown to a small smile, then a big devilish grin, revealing his now sharp teeth. "Hello.... Cole...." The ninja shiver from the sound of his voice. As if there was an echo of a different pitch and different emotion in his voice. "I see our little friend here didn't do a good job at being the villain...." Kai says menacingly as he lifts up a body that Cole didn't see until now. The ninja freeze in terror. It was the body of Kugutsu. Blood and burn marks shown all over. His face pitch black but with spots of blood splattered. Nya tried to resist the urge to vomit at the sight.
