Chapter 13 ~ Fire Demon Puppet

Third Person POV:

The Palace of Corruption... I place full of darkness. Our master of fire would usually put on his brave, confidence face on which would make him look cocky. This time he was more scared and worried. He hoped he would be able to help his friends enough to defeat this villain. He didn't want them to be corrupted like he was. Kai snapped out of his thoughts as he feels something grabbing his hand softly. He realizes it was someone grabbing his hand, that someone is Cole. He was trying to help Kai keep his guard up and calm while they go from hall to hall. "Are we almost there yet?" Jay whispers to Zane, who stand in front of the rest to find a way to the throne room. "Almost there. This palace is quite bigger inside than outside," Zane stated. The blue ninja sighs, glad to hear that they can stop walking soon.

The ninja continued to look around the halls as their fellow nindroid leads them to their destination. After moments of walking, Zane stopped in front of two, giant wooden doors with black and purple highlights. "Looks like this is it," Lloyd tells his team. He puts his mask on and the others follow, except for Kai. Honestly, he just got too lazy to change out of the dress but they were ready. Weapons and all. "Ninja, go!" They do their usual, door knockouts and somehow break, most of the bottom of the doors. The Ninja blinked seeing the room they have entered. It was dark but not too dark to see. The room was as wide as the Queen of Hearts's throne room, the floor was made out of a dark wood. There were walls that were pitch black and paintings or inscriptions made of milk white ink. In front of them, by many feet, was the throne. Sitting in it was a masked figure, wearing all black and some hints of light grey. He held blood red candle in both his hands, which sit on the figures' lap. The mask was white with a smiley face you'd see for theatre. The color of the smiley face was the a light purple, there was a type of liquid dripping from the eyes of the mask but the ninja did not question it.

What shocked them was that Clouse was right next to him with arms behind his back, and not just that. The only thing that makes him look corrupted was his eyes, nothing more. This confused the ninja very much. "Well, well, well.... Looks like you have finally made it to my throne room!" The masked figure said with a happy tone. Nya stepped up, "Who are you?! And why are you invading different realms, corrupting different people?!" The figure laughed from pure joy. "I am known as Kugutsu.... A master of puppetry... Or in your case... CORRUPTION...." He chuckled evily. "As for the 'invading realms and turning people into my puppets'.... I just wanted to have some... Fun.... My power was not as how it used to be before, you know? But ever since I began to turn the people from my home realm into my very own puppets and once I did, I felt their power... Their energy flow to me! I decided to turn more into my puppets'! I soon had enough power to travel through realms and consume the most powerful in each realm!" The man behind the mask laughed and laughed. The Ninja shivered from this man's insanity from going power hungry. "But now....." The left eye of his mask, along with half of the candle, faded from a light purple to red. As soon as it happened, the end of a katana was placed Infront of Cole's neck. The master of earth turned his head slowly, along with the other ninja. All eyes widen in fear, seeing Kai holding the blade of his katana onto Cole's neck. "Kai? W-what are you d-...doing?" Nya was scared to know his answer but he didn't. He turned to the others and they could see. Kai's eyes were all black with a glowing red pupil. Cole didn't dare to move. "Now it is your time to meet the same fate as your little friend...."

Lloyd grew angry, "You bastard! You let us save him! You let him lead us right to you, just so you could have our power!" Kugutsu stood up slowly, "Of course... But don't forget... It was your choice to save him in the first place...." Clouse jumped from his spot next to the throne to in front of the ninja. Kai was about to grab Cole, until he ducked and kicked Kai by the stomach. The corrupted master of fire flew back and hit his back against the wall, falling to the ground. "Cole! What are you doing?!" Jay demanded to know as to why his best friend did that sort of action to his new lover. Cole glared to him with tears forming. Jay blinked, being his best friend could read his eyes easily. It was either fight the corrupted or be corrupted.

Kai stood up and lit his hands on fire, which was once again white. Clouse summoned a cloud of dark magic around his hands. The Ninja thought they would have a fair fight. Just then, soldiers made of stone appeared from the walls and surrounded the ninja with different types of weapons. The blue ninja gulped. "Anybody have any ideas?" Lloyd asks his friends. "Well, while Kugutsu was answering Nya's questions, I managed to scan him, searching for any weaknesses and only found one," Zane stated. Nya turns her head to the side, facing the nindroid, "And that is?" "The candle that he holds in his hands. It is a source to his power, but...." "Oh, boy. There's always a 'but' isn't there?!" "But if we were to, not only blow out the fire and destroy it...." "What's gonna happen, Zane?" "I... It's.... It might take Kai's life along with his corruption if we were to free him..."

"WHAT?!?!"

"Are you serious right now Zane?! You expect us to kill Kai to free him?!" Cole argued. "Well if I can get more time, there might be another way! But I can't do that right now because we are in a middle of a fight!" Zane argues back. Kugutsu smirks under his mask, being amused by the argument the ninja are causing. The fire on the candle glows brighter, a sign that he is using his dark power, "Go......."

The stone soldiers raise their weapons after getting their command. The Ninja notice as the weapons about to crush them. They run separate ways in the room to take down the stone soldiers. Nya and Lloyd fought half of the stone soldiers, Zane dealing with the other half, Jay decided to take out Clause, leaving Cole with Kai. Cole gripped his hammer as tightly as he could. Kai slowly lifted his arm with the hand lit with the white fire. The black ninja gasped, knowing instantly what he was going to do. "EVERYONE GET OUT OF THE WAY!!" The Ninja stopped their fighting and did what they were told. Jay wasn't able to move due to Clause knocking him down with his magic. Nya kicked him by the face and ran with Jay being dragged by her very hands. The white fire from Kai's hands blew off. Causing a massive wave of fire, almost destroying the stone soldiers. Clause used his dark magic to protect himself from getting hit by the fire ninja's power. Nya and Jay were lucky to have made it before getting hit. Kugutsu was also getting hit by his puppets' power but it didn't seem to bother him at all.

He laughed insanely, enjoying the feeling of his power growing from Kai. It's not just the power and energy from people, it was also emotions. The emotions in the boy was great. There was so much hatred, anger, sadness, pain, guilt. He was only after the negative ones. How amazing it felt to the Puppet Master of darkness. Especially since the fire ninja's powers are connected to his emotions. Once the fire from Kai stopped, practically the whole throne room was destroyed. The walls behind the throne were destroyed. Blast marks from the fire we're scarred on the wooden floor, leaving small embers of his white fire. The Ninja started wide eyed as to what their corrupted friend had done to most of the throne room.

"Well this is a disaster......"
