Chapter 15 ~ A Thought To A Secret

Third person POV:

The ninja, along with White Rabbit, rush out of the dark palace, which that belongs to the Puppet Master. Or as you would call him, Kugutsu. They all pant and gasp, trying to keep the air in their lungs as they run faster than they ever could. With Zane carrying an unconscious Kai and Lloyd dragging an unconscious Clouse, with Jay helping him out as they run. As they run into the forest they make many twists and turns until they feel like they have ran far enough from the palace. Once they stopped, most of them fell on their knees, or let themselves fall on their backs, wishing for the night time air around them to help cool down. Fortunately, Zane was unfazed and managed to softly place Kai on a tree.

Cole gasps and fastly crawls over to the passed out fire ninja. "Kai.... Oh, I'm so sorry.... I didn't know this would happen...." The black ninja whispers as softly as he could, though it was hardly quiet since he was still catching his breathe. Nya had managed to have enough strength and walked to the opposite side of Cole, grabbing her brothers' hand. She slowly looked to her brother's new lover, "It wasn't your fault Cole..... None of us knew this would've happened...." Zane walked up to them, softly placing a hand on the earth ninjas' shoulder, "Not even I knew it would happen. I didn't sense any danger within Kai, though it seemed that's what Kugutsu wanted us all to think. He even made Kai believe so, not even realizing he was still under his control."

A small smile was made on Cole's face, "Thanks guys... I just hope Kai's gonna be okay..." Rabbit finally got up from her knees and stood slightly as straight as she could, "We should head back to my cottage. He would be more comfortable as he rests there. But what about him?" She asks turning to Clouse, who Jay and Lloyd had dropped, face first, into the ground when they were trying to breathe in air for their poor lungs. "Yeah. What are we gonna do with him, Lloyd?" Jay asked worriedly. Lloyd just stood up with silence, putting his finger on his chin in thought. From looking at his teammates, to his passed out friend, to the white haired hybrid, to the face-planted villain, who tried to destroy them twice now. Lloyd looks to White Rabbit after a thought came up to his mind, "Rabbit, do you have any rope and duck tape in your cottage?"

The girl was confused by the question at first, but shook it off within seconds, "I do. Why?" Lloyd looks down at the unconscious man with a small glare. "This man is capable of dark magic. He casts evil spells that almost got us into deep trouble. Though in order for him to cast them, he would need his hands and mouth. Well, maybe more of his mouth than anything," The leader explained to the rabbit hybrid. She nodded in approval and looked towards the others. "Then we must hurry, we don't want that man of darkness to find us anytime soon, and you all should get some rest too. You all need it, especially after what happened tonight..." The girl whispers the last part in sadness, knowing her new friend, has once again, fallen unconscious, due to the Puppet Master.

Cole picks up Kai, bridal style, as carefully as he could. Nya walks next to Jay, making sure he was alright before they head to the rabbits' home. As soon as they were done resting from the run, Zane and Lloyd picked up Clouse, who was still knocked out, and dragged him by the arms, not caring for him as much since he almost destroyed them.

After about 45 minutes of slow, silent walking through the forest, they finally made it to White Rabbits' cottage. Cole went upstairs to place Kai in the room that Rabbit gave him, and Zane dragged the man of dark magic to the couch. Meanwhile, Rabbit collected the two items that Lloyd had requested and gave them to him. After that the ninja went to sleep. Zane had decided to stay up, being the only one not needing sleep, he wanted to make sure that Clouse didn't wake up and try to attack them while they rest.

Though another ninja also stayed awake. And that was Cole.The master of earth decided to sleep in the same room as the green ninja.  He couldn't sleep, worrying too much about his boyfriends' health and all. Memories spinning from the battle with Kugutsu and haunted him in a tauntingly way. Thoughts overflowed in his head, although he tries to silence them everytime the dark ones came over the positive ones. The words that came out of the man's mouth, telling dark truths and reminders to the ninja how much Kai has gotten not much in return for his kindness to them. It made Cole's heart shatter, but he's hoping that being his new boyfriend will help make up for it. The only positive thoughts finally comes. Cole sighs silently, turning from his back to his left side. His eye lids start to feel heavy, slowly blinking until they stay shut. The earth ninja was now asleep, while the only being awake was his nindroid friend.
