Chapter 12 ~ The Palace of Corruption

Third Person POV:

Rabbit watched as Kai was showing Lloyd how to take care of flowers. She giggled at how much Lloyd struggled to understand. Jay came in to ask for a snack. He noticed that White Rabbit was looking out the window and smiled, "How's it goin'?" She blinked and turned. She nodded her head towards the window. Jay caught what she meant and walked over next to her by the window. He chuckled seeing Lloyd watching Kai as he talked and talked. Lloyd was trying to keep awake as his eyes were going up and down.

Kai seemed to notice and smirked. He flicked Lloyd's forehead and laughed, watching the green ninja cry over it. The two watching them in the window chuckled in amusement. "Well I better start making lunch, want to help?", Rabbit asked. The blue ninja nodded, "Sure. I don't really have much to do."

Meanwhile, Nya was having a conversation with Cole and Zane. "So what you gotta do is first, get a present for him with his favorite chocolate and flower! That's how you get his attention, " she grinned. Zane looked confused, "But wouldn't Cole already have his attention just by talking to him?" Nya's grin faded and gave Zane a quick glare. "I keep forgetting to update your circuits to understand things better." Cole just chuckled. After a few more minutes Kai and Lloyd walked back in. Kai's face light red from how much he laughed and Lloyd was keeping a cold glare at the red ninja.

"What's going on big bro?" Nya asked as she stood. "I flicked the green beans head because he almost fell asleep and the way he reacted was funny to me-" "How was it that funny?" Lloyd asked embarrassed. Cole walked over and placed a hand around Kai's waist, making the fire ninja blush as red as his dress. Lloyd and Nya smirked at the sight. "Who's reaction is funny now, huh?" Lloyd teased. Kai said nothing and hid his face onto Cole's chest. Jay then, called the others for lunch. They walked into the kitchen to see the table with food filling the middle, leaving room on the edges for plates, bowls or cups. The ninja and the female hybrid laughed and talked about the memories of their adventures in the past. White Rabbit seemed fascinated by their stories. Cole blushed as he looked at the beauty next to him. Nya, Jay and Lloyd on the other side of the table smirking at Cole,  unnoticed. Zane and Rabbit just let them be. Kai was just eating his food.

~Time Skip~

It was now night time...

The sounds of crickets can be heard around the forest. The sound of the ninjas laughter was no longer, now that they had to be serious for this. In the forest once more, the ninja and the hybrid walked slowly and quietly to find Clause, who is still under the corruptions hand. No one has spoken a word once.tgey entered the forest. They went farther, deeper into the forest. Farther than where they found Kai during his corruption. Kai shivered at the thought. He did not wish to hurt his friends, his family. Kai grabbed onto Cole's hand, afraid to leave him again. Cole held his hand tightly, hoping to never let Kai go alone anymore. The smirks of the blue, green and silver ninja were never shown on their faces. Continuing to keep walking with silence and stealth. But they did not know that they were already spotted by the true holder of the corruption.

"Seems I have found them... Along with my little puppet... Heheheh... Soon their powers will be mine, along with the rest of this world..."

The ninja continued to walk forward on the trail. Not sensing any danger.

"Closer....."

They saw a bright light, just inches away.

"Follow the light that will lead you to darkness....."

The light is past the trees and bushes, leading them away from the trail of the forest. Grabbing their weapons as Kai gave one of his Katanas to White Rabbit.

"Bring them to me my lovely puppet.... Lead them to their doom....."

Jay and Zane move the branches of the trees away to see where the light was coming from. Lloyd walks forward and gasps. A small palace not far from where they stand.

"Now... Their light shall perish....."

The ninja, along with Rabbit stare in awe and fear. The light seemed to have vanished once they placed their eyes on the palace. "So are we going in?" Nya asks. Jay whips his head at her, "What?! Are you serious?! That palace is written with evil!! We might not even be prepared for this!! What if there's more corrupted people than we know?!?!" For once during this adventure, Kai thought that Jay was right. Ever since they saw the palace, Kai has felt uneasy. He felt drawn to it, yet he knew it was a trap. Cole looked to Kai in worry, "It's alright Kai. We can win this. Jay is just being Jay and overreacting." Jay gave a angry pouty face at Cole, telling him that he heard what he said. Rabbit stood up, "But what if he's right? The palace is not as big as the Queen of Hearts's palace, but it is still big enough to have an army of people under the corruption.

Lloyd looked to the floor in thought, thinking of a plan. It was kind of his job as the leader. "We don't even have a choice," Nya explained, "We have to try our best and fight them! It's just like what Rabbit said, there could be an army of corrupted people! And it's our JOB as ninja to help and free them!" The ninja smiled at her speech, which they found inspirational. Nya grinned proudly at what she had said, glad she didn't mess any words up. "So what do we do?" Kai questioned softly, "What if there's someone waiting for us? What if it's a trap?" Lloyd decided to take this chance to speak, "Then we sneak in, like always. We might have a big enough chance to sneak in and at least find Clause, since he's the strongest out of the rest of the corrupted.

They nod in agreement to the plan.

"Foolish ninja... You won't be able to stop me...! Not while my puppet is around... I will know all of your plans.....!"

"Stay here. It will be safer for you. And if anything happens, use this tracker to find us inside the palace," Zane explained to White Rabbit. She nods slowly in fear and worry. "Of course. Thank you. I hope you all stay safe in there." Zane nods in response as he enters the palace doors to join the others.

The female hybrid looks around the doorway to see if the area was clear as Zane caught up with the others. She sigh in relief, praying they would be safe. Meanwhile with Zane, he finally caught up with the rest of the ninja at a corner of the hallway. "Which way do we go?" Kai whispers. Lloyd looks to Zane, who has just arrived, "Zane... Can you direct us towards the back? There's probably a throne room or something since this is a palace" The titanium nindroids takes a few steps forward as the others watched during his scan. "I have found a more suitable route to the throne room. But it will take some time," he replied. Nya grinned under her mask, "Then what are we waiting for? Let's go!" They all sneak around the hallways their nindroid friend tells them to go. As for Kai, he hasn't had the chance to change into his gi since he was busy making up for his absence at White Rabbit's Cottage. Although, he had been feeling as if he is being stalked by a ghost. Though it would have to be Clause, he does not believe a ghost like him would be watching him in the palace. He believes it is something far more worse.

"Come my puppet....."

Kai gasped and whipped his body around, looking behind him. The others stopped and looked to their, used to be, hot headed friend. He has been feeling like he has been loosing his fire ever since they entered the forest, or at least it is a small ember loosing it's spark. "Are you okay, Kai?" The red ninja looked to his earth ninja's dark, yet beautiful plum eyes. Kai smiled as much as he could to show no fear, not to worry the others. He nods and they continue. Cole felt like something was going on with him, he just didn't know what.

"The time will come very soon ninja... Very... Very... Soon...."
