Chapter 8 ~ They snuffed out the fire?!

Third Person Pov:

The ninja were sneaking around, managed to leave the dungeon halls to outside on the Castle of Hearts. Kai, with a bit of help from Cheshire Cat and White Rabbit, saved his friends from the Queen of Hearts' dungeon. They all had their masks on scouting the area. Except the earth ninja was scouting Kai, who was still in a red, short skirt dress holding, the now calm, Cheshire Cat in his cat form, on his chest. Oh, how Cole would love to be the cat. Feeling the warms of Kai's body, his arms around the cat holding him tight, never letting go. The master of fire blinked at the feeling of being watched. He turned to the his friends but as soon as Cole saw Kai look up in notice, he quickly looked away pretending like he was scouting like the rest. Kai then, shrugged it off.

"The guards only seem to be in the front of the Castle.", Zane states. "But there are also a few more behind the castle and on or in it." Kai looks to Zane, "We can't go to the sides either. There's a small river around from the back to the side from the Queen of Hearts' garden. And her garden in pretty big." The others begin to wonder how big. Kai sees their confusion. He stands up and signals them to follow. He turns and tries to run without making a sound with his shoes. The ninja look at each other then back at Kai. They all follow Kai towards the back of the castle. Once they pass a corner, they all stand in shock.

The garden was probably the size of Ninjago City, with lush green bushes, which was kind of hard to see because of the sun setting, but they were in the shape of hearts with white and red roses. There were small walls of bushes, almost like a maze but were probably up to Zane's chest. And he's the tallest of all of them. Finally, like Kai explained, there were beautiful clear waterfalls from both sides of the garden, going down into rivers from towards the entrance of the garden gates to the very back, where a fountain was seen in the middle of the small maze.

The ninjas' mouths were practically touching the ground from the sight, "How is there even a garden this big?! How is that even possible?!", Jay exclaimed only to be quickly covered by the mouth by Nya's hand. "Quiet, Jay!", she whispers with a warning in her voice, "Do you want to go back to the dungeons?!" Jay shakes his head as a reply. Nya slowly took her hand off his mouth and looked back at the view. "I would agree with Jay on this one...", Zane says in awe. Lloyd looks to Kai with his widened eyes, "How did you even know this was here? You can hardly even notice it from the front!", Kai turns to Lloyd with tired eyes, "Well I'm actually kind of friends with the Queens advisor, or something like that-", Kai was soon interrupted by Cole, "Is that why the rabbit winked at us?"

Kai looked at Cole with an offended look on his face. The ninja confused by why he is making such a face. "W-what? What'd I say?", Cole afraid he said something that made Kai so offended. "Did you say 'THE rabbit'?", Kai asks the black ninja quietly. Cole hesitates to answer for a moment. Looking behind him towards the others and back at Kai, "Yeah...?" Kai takes his right arm and puts it on his hip, while the other is still holding Cheshire Cat on his left, "She isn't 'THE rabbit'... She's 'A rabbit'...! Her name is White Rabbit. And she takes very much offence to that-" "But why are you offended?", Jay interrupts. "Because he said 'THE rabbit' and I'm telling you guys NOW, that if you call her 'THE rabbit' infront of her... She will not take any second chances on you. Trust me... I've seen it...", Kai shivers at the thought.

The ninja look at each other and shrug.

~Time skip~

The ninja are on the highest tower on the castle to get a better view of what's going on. Fortunately, the highest towers are by the front of the gate to the Castle of Hearts. They see the guards preparing, for what seems like a war. Even Kai is confused to what is going on. They see the Queen coming out of the front doors of the castle and get a little lower. "Commander! Are the guards in position?", the Queen questions her top guard. "Yes, your Majesty!", he replies with no emotion.
