Key: K/n= kit name

Your POV

You yawned and stretched in the sunlight of the nursery, careful not to wake your mother, Forestdusk. Jaykit, Lionkit, and Hollykit were snoring gently nearby with their mother Squirrelflight.

"K/n! What are you doing up so early?" Your leader, Firestar, was stalking towards you with his tail held high.

"I just woke up." you shrugged.

"Stay in camp." Firestar warned. You nodded and twitched your ear irritably.

"Lionkit!" a whining voice was heard from the nursery. You recognized that voice as Hollykit's.

"Shh! If we want to sneak out of camp, we need to be quiet." Lionkit's voice trailed over to you.

"K/n! Do you want to sneak out of camp with us?" Hollykit spotted you and bounded up.

"Sure. But we can't be spotted. Firestar's already awake." You told her, ignoring what Firestar ordered before.

"Let's go." Lionkit jumped in excitement.

Jaykit emerged and followed us, wanting to be included in too.

The trees towered over the four kittens as we walked through the ThunderClan territory. A soft rustle was heard by a nearby bush.

"What's that?" you stopped dead at the sound.

"I don't scent anything." Lionkit raised his nose.

"We're downwind." Jaykit pointed out.

"Hmm." Hollykit sighed. "Let's stay together."

Jaykit's pelt brushed with yours as we squeezed closer. You felt your ears and pelt heat up.

After a few minutes, a disgusting smell reached your nose.

"Ew! What's that stench?" Hollykit wrinkled her nose.

"Someone's stalking us." You spun around and was face to face with an orange long-muzzled creature. It was a fox!

"Run!" Lionkit squealed as it lunged for the kits. You ran towards the direction of camp, guiding Jaykit with your tail.

"I can run by myself!" Jaykit said angrily.

"Shut up." You snapped. Hollykit ran past you, hissing in fear. The fox's hot breath was on your short tail.

"Watch out!" Lionkit mewed, dodging the fox's jaws. It caught your tail instead. Hot unbearable pain spread from the wound and blood splattered the ground. Jaykit heard your shriek of pain and blindly staggered to help you.

The fox leapt for him but missed when Lionkit bumped Jaykit away. You ran for your life, pushing Jaykit and Hollykit forward. But the ground suddenly disappeared when the ThunderClan camp was almost in view. You heard Jaykit screech in shock and fear when he fell down the hole too.

You and Jaykit woke up in Leafpool's den, covered in herbs and cobwebs. Your shoulder and tail was stinging with pain but there was no blood.

"You guys are awake! I was worrying. Drink some water." Leafpool came rushing in, bringing a wet wad of moss.

"I'm not thirsty." Jaykit pushed her away, wincing.

"Give me some!" you lapped up the moss Leafpool dropped.

"Why?" Leafpool frowned at Jaykit.

"I was dreaming about a beautiful she-cat. She gave me some water to drink there." Jaykit mewed.

"What did she look like?" Leafpool stopped dead for some reason.

"Well, she was a tortoiseshell and smelled sweet. Was it StarClan?" Jaykit asked hopefully.

"I'm not sure. Interesting." Leafpool said to herself more than us. "You two are ready to go anyway."  She stalked away.

You walked out of the medicine cat's den and into the nursery with Jaykit, meeting Lionkit and Hollykit.

"We thought you guys died!" they both said.

"We didn't." Jaykit said crossly.

"Come here." Forestdusk grabbed you and groomed your ruffled and bloody pelt.

"You're in a lot of trouble, you four. You guys sneaked out of camp and got attacked by a fox!" Squirrelflight scolded.

"We're not dead, we're fine!" Hollykit protested.

"Don't do it again!" Forestdusk said between licks. You flattened your ears.

"We were all searching! Firestar sent out a patrol. Luckily, the patrol found Jaykit and K/n in the hole and pulled you out." Squirrelflight hissed.

"Okay, okay!" you sighed. You lay down in my nest near your mother and closed your eyes.

Your tail didn't sting at all now.

"Don't forget, you're going to be an apprentice tomorrow." Squirrelflight told us. You didn't respond and just fell into a dreamless sleep.
