Neo
"I don't need a therapist, Natasha". Neo says as a matter of fact. It's been 2 days since she woke up and she's still bed ridden. The only difference is that she's no longer handcuffed to the bed frame and she's no longer a globally wanted fugitive.
Maria and Natasha both sit opposite her, unconvinced and inexorable. "This isn't up for discussion, Neo. Therapy is one of the requirements that came with your switch to S.H.I.E.L.D". Maria replies.
"That's bullshit". Neo says in a gravelly voice.
"Look kid, even if therapy wasn't on the list of orders given from Fury himself, I'd still like for you to attend therapy sessions. You've been through a lot in your life, more than anybody your age should have, and you deserve to get real help". Natasha strokes her thumb over Neo's hand as she holds it.
"I'm not insane. I don't need stupid therapy sessions". Neo motions a hand in the air, removing it from Natasha's.
"I went to therapy for years after the Red Room, am I insane?" Natasha asks with a raised eyebrow. Neo just slumps back against the headboard. "You've not even been to a session yet. Just give it a go, please".
Neo sees the desperation in Natasha's eyes. She sighs. "Fine. One session".
Maria looks over to Natasha with a hopeful smile. "Thank you, honey". Natasha says. "Your therapist will be here in about 2 hours, her name is Dr Elrod and..."
"Wait, 2 hours?" Neo exclaims. "Some warning would have sufficed".
"If we told you two days ago then you would have overthought it and probably refused to go". Maria states.
"No shit". Neo folds her arms. "I don't want to go. You can't make me".
"We technically can given that we're your SO's but given that you're new to...well everything, we would rather you make the decision to attend". Natasha says. "It can't do any harm so just give it a go, alright?"
Neo groans and rolls her head back. "Fine".
"Try being a bit more optimistic, hon'. This will help you, I promise". Natasha says, standing up.
"You don't know that". Neo remarks.
"No, but I know that it helped me when I came to S.H.I.E.L.D". Natasha says. "I think it'll do the same for you". She says with a smile. She checks her watch. "Look baby, I've got a meeting about the Sokovia Accords I need to get to. They are causing quite the stir with the rest of the team and I should probably get there before Tony rips off Steve's head". Natasha plants a small kiss on Neo's forehead and moves out slightly, cupping the girls' cheek. "Just give it a go, okay? If you really don't like it then I can talk to Fury but I want you to at least try, okay?"
"Okay". Neo says, this time with a bit more sincerity.
Natasha smiles and plants another kiss on the girls' forehead. "I won't be able to see you until after the session so I'll just tell you not to kill Dr Elrod, okay?" Natasha jokes.
Neo let's out a short laugh. "No promises".
"Just this once". Natasha holds out her pinkie finger.
Neo can't help but smile at the childish action but she wraps her pinkie around Natasha's. "Fine, just this once".
Natasha releases a laugh before standing up from over Neo's bed. "I'll see you later. Be good".
The redhead exits the room.
"I know your friend wants to come round to see you tomorrow". Maria says. "Katie, Cathrine? What was her name?"
"Kate, Kate Bishop". Neo corrects.
