Neo

I'm sprinting. I don't know why at first but as I turn ahead I see Vision, Iron Man, Spider-Man, War Machine and...mama charging at us. Us? I am running alongside uncle Clint, Captain America, The Falcon, The Winter Soldier, Wanda, Kate and guy I've never met before in a weird red and black costume. As I adjust to my surroundings and identify that we're at an airport, I'm quick to become familiar with the situation and continue to run alongside my counterparts despite having very little understanding as to why.

The opposing half of the Avengers run faster and faster as they hastily approach. 'What the fuck are we doing? What the fuck are we doing?' Is all that repeats in my mind. Soon enough, we clash. Spider-Man sends a web my way which I manage to dodge but in doing so I end up head to head with War Machine.

"You should have stayed out of this, kid". He says as he raises the arm of his suit up.

"What are you talking about?" My words come out more panicked than intended. I'm pulled alway from his arm and I hit into the ground. I look up and see my mama. "What's going on?"

"You shouldn't be here, Neo". Her voice is firmer than I've heard before.

"What are you talking about?" I shout, becoming more desperate to know what the hell is happening.

"Don't play coy with me, kid". Her hands tighten over my shoulders.

"I don't know what's going on". Neo yells to her. "Why are they fighting?"

Natasha's head tilts in confusion. "If this is you trying to get out of trouble with me then..."

"Just tell me what's happening!" Neo yells in desperation.

"The Accords". Natasha says, concerned of Neo's lack of knowledge. "Is this part of some distraction?"

Natasha is pushed off me by uncle Clint and the two of them start fighting a few meters away. I pick myself up and spot Wanda in the distance who makes direct eye contact with me. We both share the same terrified confusion. I begin to make my way over to her but before I can do anything, I'm hit by a burning shot from Vision's stone.

Neo swings up in a sweaty mess as she releases heavy breaths. Natasha and Maria are already trying to soothe her by running their hands down her face, through her hair or over her back. They couple repeat reassurances to Neo but the teenager cannot hear a thing. A piercing headache cuts through her mind. It's similar to the one she had whilst in the taxi when escaping the Compound. It's almost like she can hear the foundation or outline of what Natasha and Maria are saying but the words just won't process. The room around her is still forming in her mind as she's trying to adjust.

Natasha and Maria's touches start to become claustrophobic, especially as Neo is sandwiched between the couple. Neo can sense that her powers haven't been used during her sleep which is somewhat of a relief but she can tell that they're on the cusp of blasting out a shot of energy. She pulls away from Natasha and Maria and hurries off the bed.

The couple, in an instant, following closely behind and Natasha reaches out to take ahold of Neo's arm but the teenager pulls away as fast as she can. She can tell that Natasha is trying to talk to her, and so is Maria, but still, their words enter into her mind silently. The blurry room surrounding Neo is hurting her head even more so she pushes through the door and stumbles into the corridor. Once again, Natasha reaches out to stop Neo but this time she's stopped by a small telekinetic blast that pushes her back into the wall.

Although she's surprised, Natasha is still focused on helping Neo; the only issue is that she's slightly incapacitated by the pain from the blast. Maria quickly checks Natasha over to make sure that she's okay before hurrying after Neo herself. Neo can feel her nose starting to bleed and there's a branch of blood leaking out from her ear as well. Maria notices the blood and pulls Neo back, stopping her from moving. The woman pulls Neo over to one of the multiple sofas that line the sides of the corridor and she moves her into her side. As Neo struggles to push away from the woman, Maria moves her into her lap. "It's okay, everything's going to be okay". Maria's words manage to process into Neo's mind due to their close proximity. The older woman massages her hand over Neo's back as she holds her close. "Breathe, sweetheart, you're safe".
