Eijeh lazily watched the dorm clock hands change to 7:59pm. There had been a crazy array of food for dinner, with students being able to choose what they wished. This had caused a few fights between the first-years, but the older students managed to get them under control. There had been no homework set during the first day, and Eijeh was looking forward to just going to sleep, although it was barely 8pm. 8pm...His sparring match! He leapt up, causing a slightly disapproving look from Blair, who was writing something in a smart black notebook and humming to himself.
"Eijeh, what are you doing?" He asked.
"I have a sparring match with Pluto Alodia in...ONE MINUTE?!" He frantically grabbed his jacket and pulled it on. "AND I DON'T EVEN KNOW WHERE I'M GOING!" He yelled.
"Pluto Alodia? Isn't that the kid who started yelling at Naomi earlier?" Ellowyn frowned. "I gotta say, she's pretty hot. Could I come watch?"
Eijeh nodded. "She said I could bring anyone I wished to."
Blair considered this. "Well, Ellowyn is not going alone. I don't trust him not to do something stupid."
Ellowyn put a hand over his heart, looking hurt. "Bro, I thought you trusted me."
"We've known each other for a day. Now we should hurry. I think I know where it's going to be held."

On the way, they'd picked up Hayden, who'd cheerfully waved goodbye to his roommates before joining the group. "Anyone know where Zia's room is?" Eijeh asked. Ellowyn glanced at him interestedly. "Zia? That girl who can go invisible?" He began to try and tidy his hair.
"Yep. That's her."
"Uh, well, I think I saw her going towards one of the smaller dorms...Dorm room 7, I think it was. Blair, we headed that way or what?"
Blair nodded. "We are. Dorm 7 is near the arena, actually." The group sped up. They were already 4 minutes late, and something told Eijeh that she wouldn't appreciate that.

Zia's dorm was pretty out of the way, and there were several gouges in the wood that gave Eijeh a bad feeling. He knocked anyway. "Zia?" He called, and heard quick footsteps. Zia's voice cried "DUCK, ALL OF YOU!" And the door was flung open. Instead of Zia standing there with a smile, as he expected, there was a girl with dyed light blue hair tied in bunches with pink bows and a dyed pink fringe, holding a sharp, gleaming knife. She had round glasses with pink rims and behind them, her emerald eyes were wide and insane. Without warning, she hurled the knife at Eijeh's head, and he was saved only by a sudden shove from Blair. The taller boy stood with his arms outstretched, shielding Hayden, Ellowyn and Eijeh, all of whom were on he ground, looking shocked. The girl hissed and lunged at Blair. No...not at him. Past him, to where her knife was quivering, stuck in the wall. Eijeh realised that the gashes in the door had probably been made by the same knife that was now only a few inches above his head. Blair remained steadfast and didn't flinch. Zia finally emerged from inside the dorm, her hair an absolute mess, and tentatively reached for the crazy girl's arm.
"Ciara..." she said the name softly, but there was a firmness to her voice Eijeh hadn't heard before. "We've talked about this." She reached past Blair and grabbed the knife. "Here, go sharpen it or something." She handed the knife to Ciara, which made Eijeh uneasy, and turned to them. "Sorry about that. I don't think she likes strangers much. She tried to kill me when I first walked in, too. It'll be fine. So, are you gonna introduce your friends, Eijeh?" She helped him up, beaming. "I'm Zia Adamos, nice to meet you!"
Blair nodded seriously. "I'm Blair Stewards."
Hayden got to his feet, glaring at Zia. "Keep your psycho friend under control next time! I knew we shouldn't have called in here as well." He turned away angrily. Ellowyn was still on the floor, his jaw slack. He stared up at Zia and blushed crimson.
"I— Uh—" he cleared his throat. "I'm Ellowyn Hawthorne. Nice to meet you too. Thank you for helping us out there." He hurriedly smoothed his hair down before scrambling to his feet and kissing Zia's hand like he was her fairytale prince.
