CHAPTER 08 :: LOVE? Long Ago
A young twelve-year-old boy was helping around La Casa Madrigal for an upcoming event, the triplet's birthday. He notices to see a ginger head getting told off by another girl nearby the stairs.
"Pepa, Mamá said no cloud!" The dark-haired girl pouted and folded her arms. She wore a baby blue dress with lace, and her black hair did not reach her shoulders. The ginger on the other hand wore golden yellow, bright as the sun which did not match the clouds towering above her.
"I'm sorry, Julieta! I just got nervous," she stuttered as her clouds grew a bit thicker.
"Come on now, say it with me."
"Clear skies... clear skies..." the two chanted and took deep breaths as the redhead's clouds begin to fade. After a few more chants, it was gone and the girl had already calmed down.
"Very good Pepa, I'll be off to the kitchen to help with cooking," Julieta praised with a smile before heading off to the kitchen. Pepa waves and smiles when suddenly someone approaches him from behind, "Hey!"
Pepa's clouds reappeared but this time smaller as she looked behind to see a jolly-looking chubby boy with a dark complexion and poofy black hair. Pepa hugged her little side braid and glared in defense.
"Oh! Sorry, I didn't mean to scare you," he scratched the back of his neck and smiled clumsily. Pepa stands her ground, not knowing how to react.
"And who are you???" She squinted as she was ready to attack this boy anytime.
"Oh, my name is Félix! I help Señora Alma every week. She called me in today since it's gonna be the triplets' birthday....," he explained and looks above Pepa's head to see the little dark cloud, ready to rain or thunder. ".... and I'm guessing you're one of them." He smiled politely and chuckled as he pointed up.
Pepa looks above her and notices the cloud which made her as red as a tomato. She fumes and intensely glares at Félix before suddenly running upstairs to storm off. The boy decides to run after her through the hallways of the second floor. She runs past through the helping while Félix was busy apologizing and excusing himself through the crowd. Just when Félix thought he caught up, he suddenly bumps into a young boy with glasses, making the two of them crash to the ground. Félix stands up only to lose sight of Pepa, he sighs but immediately focuses his attention on the young kid he just bumped into.
"Hey, sorry about that," Félix said as he helps him up, picks up the golden glasses beside him, and hands them to the young boy. The young boy was dressed more formally than others. He wore a blue vest with matching blue pants and his hair was a little wavy. He may look younger but he was quite taller than Felix.
"It's okay!" the other boy smiled in glee. Félix smiles in return but is immediately concerned by the scratches on the boy's elbow.
"Hey, you're hurt!" Félix points at the scratched part. The boy readjusts his glasses and notices the scratches. "Oh! I didn't even notice..." his curious look suddenly turned into a shy smile, "Which means... another reason to visit Senorita Julieta," he muttered to himself, not noticing that Felix had also heard his little wish.
