I had a splitting headache.

No doubt about it. I felt like I would pass out again, spiral away. And no one seemed to notice. How could I even begin to explain what I felt like? Well, my brain literally felt like a meat cleaver was being brought down on it full force about 1,952 times a second. Everytime I blinked or walked any faster the world would start to spin.

I had to keep moving. No one would notice. I was going to be okay. I stumbled for a bit.

"Jade..?"Beatriz wondered. "Fine. I'm FINE!"I gripped onto my aching head. Everyone looked over at me. EVERYONE IS WATCHING YOU, I thought.

"Continue... Agh... Walking! Everything is... FINE!"I gripping onto Beatriz's shoulders, leaving her to wince. "Y-you don't look well..."Edith mumbled.

"Yeah... maybe lie down a bit?"Valentina smiled. "NO! Agh- We need to... carry on. I'm completly..."I paused to wince, "O-okay."

"Is this... normal?"Erik asked. Beatriz glanced at everyone for a moment. "Let's sit down for a bit, okay?"She sat me down on a bench. "No. No. No..."I gripped onto my head.

My entire body felt like it was on fire, the sun felt like it was in front of my eyes, burning them. And my head... felt like it was slowly splitting in half.

"Maybe you should sleep for awhile?"Beatriz rubbed circles into my back. "I- I can't. The quest..."I tried not to yell, the pain was unbearable.

Valentina locked eyes with me. Darn it. She was charming me. My entire body slouched. I tried to summon the power of Lucifer, which he did not respond to.

"Sleep for awhile, okay, general?"Valentina gave me one last smile, and my eyelids fluttered. Stupid... Asmodeus and his stupid kids. "You're.... Demoted..."I muttered.

I fell asleep.

I hated sleeping. Everything bad happened while I was asleep. But... I did. I drifted deeper into unconciousness, sinking and sinking. I wanted to wake up. I wanted to be the leader of the group. But... I couldn't push myself to.

I dreamed of my father, Lucifer.

"Headaches still bad?"He grinned at me. We were in his throne room. His golden crown gleamed, my step mother, Lilith, sat in a throne next to him. Above them were many pictures of Lucifer, a few of Lilith.

"Yes. I'll have you know they are."I said.

Lilith clicked her tongue, placing down her magazine labeled "Demons Scandals Weekly! You won't believe what Asmodeus said!" "Poor child."She muttered.

"I am not a child. I'm 20. Over the Official age of adulthood."I tried not to do my signature sneer. "Whatever."Lucifer said.

My father belched,"Look, I think this quest thing's dumb. Why are you doing it? YOU HAVE A WAR TO FIGHT IN!"He seemed enranged, as per usual.

"Father. I'll have you know- At the moment I am unconcious."I stretched it out like I was talking to a five-year-old. "You're no fun."He muttered.

"I think what Luci is trying to say is that you need to... how do you say... ditch your quest?"Lilith smiled.

"Real helpful."I muttered.

"What I was TRYING to say is-"Lucifer was cut off, the dream faded.

That dream came back. It always did.

I was in the battle field once again, reliving Atticus being slaughtered. This time, though, his appearance seemed to change every stab. From my mother, to the older version of him, to Edith. The sight was sickening. It also changed to our old head counselor, Derik. "No...No.No. No..."I was angry. I was angry at the angel. I was angry at Atticus for dying. I was angry at Derik for leaving me alone. I was angry... I was angry at myself.

The scene shifted, I lie over the body of Atticus, sobbing. His disembodied head was pale and bloody. "Jade... Oh... Jade!"Beatriz ran over to me. She sat down next to me, my cries of anguish racked my frame. "He- He was..."Beatriz talked in-between cries, "A good person. He was... the strongest Demon I've ever known."

"AND- AND- HE- HE'S DEAD!"I cried out. "I... I know..."Beatriz placed her hand on my shoulder, I buried my face in her arm. I felt a sudden comfort. I loved Beatriz. I loved her.

I woke up. A tear went down my cheek which I quickly wiped off. I groggily looked around. I was on a bus... a party bus that Valentina must've stolen, my head was leaning on Beatriz's shoulder.

"Awake?"She wondered. "Whatever."I mumbled.

"You were tossing and turning. Nightmares?"Beatriz asked.
"Yeah."I answered.

"What about?"

I didn't answer. I stood up, adjusting my boots. I looked around, there were no other mortals on the bus but the driver. Let's see... Atticus and Edith were asleep. Demons, Atticus looked like a tired middle-aged-dad who fell asleep while his kid was colouring. Erik was swinging his sword around (You know how Owls are portrayed as wise animals? That's either a lie or Erik is adopted.) And Valentina was whispering things into the driver's ear.

I dusted myself off. "SO!"I clapped. Atticus jolted up, unaware of the crayon scribbles on his face... probably. Everyone looked at me, other than the Bus driver, she continued driving. I checked my watch. 7:32. "Right on schedule."I said. "Shoot."Atticus mumbled, though, I could hear. His abdomen wound bled through his camo shirt."Ow..."He muttered.

Valentina sighed, leaving the driver in her seat. She took out a roll of bandages and rebandaged his wound. I was paying much more attention to Beatriz, she seemed concerned as she stared out the window.

I sighed,"What's wrong?"

"Can you... feel that?"She wondered.

"What?"I asked.
"That... sense of impending danger."She stood up. "Danger?"Erik pondered. Just then- a bus window broke open with a loud crash. A black dog-like creature stood there, covered in glass shards. "Do we... run?"Atticus asked.

"RUN WHERE? WERE IN A MOVING BUS!"I yelled. "WHAT IS IT?!"Valentina screamed. "Guys, it's just a dog!"Erik rolled his eyes. "YOUR NOT PICKING UP THE DANGER?"Beatriz turned towards him. "'Course not. It's just a dog. C'mere boy."Erik clicked his tongue, getting on his knees. The dog ran at him. "Erik..?"Edith mumbled, backing away.

The dog looked angry, Erik wasn't given enough time to run. The dog-thing latched onto his neck.

"OW!"Erik yelled. "SPHANDOR!"Beatriz called out. "A... What... now?"Erik fumbled, his hands looked like they were starting to weaken. "The dog... its an Egyptian-demon hyrbid thing! There's a way to make him leave! Uhm..."Beatriz seemed to be in deep thought.

Valentina ran over to Erik, but Sphandor kicked her away, I heard a crack noise near her ribs. "Would be great if you remembered!"Atticus nudged Beatriz. "It's on the tip of my tongue!"Beatriz seemed panicked.

Erik's entire body began to slump, he seemed like he couldn't move.
