Suddenly, Jade grabbed my hand.

I felt so relieved, my paranoia clouding away from my thoughts.
"Heavy!"Jade complained.
"Rude!"I frowned. Jade pulled harder, their hands beccoming sweaty, nearly slipping from mine. I tried to pull myself up but couldn't. Edie ran over, pulling on Jade's boot, which was doing nothing, but I was proud of her. Erik, Valentina, and Beatriz finally helped pull me up, and I was fine... mostly.

We all sat there for a moment, panting.
"Uhm, who's hungry?"Valentina asked, making my stomach grumble. "Uhhh, me."I raised my hand. Erik opened his backpack, taking out a box of cereal.
"Is that the... only food we have?"Edie frowned. Jade rolled their eyes, taking out a box of bowtie pasta.

"This would be better if we had a stove..."Valentina muttered, I nodded in agreement. And so, we sat there, sadly eating Lucky Charms.

"I like the marshmallows."Edie tried to start conversation. I glanced over at Jade, they weren't eating. "Hungry?"I asked. "No."Jade said.

   "Uh..."Beatriz muttered.
"You guys name your weapons yet?"Erik asked between crunching of stale Lucky Charms. Jade's ears reddended. "Ohh, someone's not telling us their spatha's name!"I smirked.

"Shut up!"Jade looked down.
"Come on, what is it?"Valentina asked.

Jade mumbled something I couldn't hear.
"Can you repeat that?"I asked, hoping to not sound too annoying.

"I SAID I NAMED IT ATTICUS!"

I paused, trying to not blush. "Oh...thanks."I smiled. "What about you?"Edie asked me.

"Oh, I guess... I guess I never named it..."I looked at my sword. I ruffled Edie's hair, "I'll name her after you, how about that?"I grinned.

"Cool!"Her eyes glittered. We all looked over at Erik.
"Mine is Heart Striker, because it struck the hearts of it's two last owners, killing them!"Erik swung his sword around. "Or because you heard it on a TV show."Valentina muttered.

    "What about you, Valentina?"I asked.
"Cupid."She blandly responded, "Since I can charm people, I named my bow Cupid. And... you know... Cupid had a bow."

And then we all turned over to Beatriz.
"I named my spear..."She dramatically looked up at the sky, "Leviathan's Unappealing Gills. L-U-G. Lug."She looked pleased with herself.
"Oh... I guess his gills are unappealing."I said.
"Wait, He actually has gills?!"Erik asked. "Of course he does!"Valentina affectionally hit the back of his head.

"If I ever have a w-weapon like you guys, I would name it Jatticus, for Jade and Atticus!"Edie smiled, we all internally awww-ed.

"Wait! I think... I think were in California!"Erik stood up, and sure enough, we were. "We're close to LA!"Beatriz smiled.

"We should get burgers before... you know."Valentina suggested. Edie smiled happily. Jade rolled their eyes. We flew our dragon into an alleyway, and got off.
Valentina suddenly said, "Dang, It's cold!"And Erik gave her his jacket, she smiled.

Beatriz shivered, "Oh, it is a bit cold..."

"Well, what do you want me to do, change the weather?!"Jade snapped.
"No, Jade, I was just asking for-"

"I'M NOT ZEUS OR SOME STUPID GOD LIKE THAT, I CAN'T JUST- CHANGE THE WEATHER! LUCIFER'S SAKE, WHAT DO YOU WAN'T FROM ME, WOMAN?!"Jade screamed, everyone looked shocked. Beatriz seemed betrayed, she looked like she was filled with anger and hate, suddenly, she slapped Jade.

"OH CRAP!"I commentated.

"JADE! WE NEED A BREAK OF SOME KIND, SO YOU CAN COME TO YOUR SENSES!"Beatriz crossed their arms, and for once, Jade seemed small. Smaller than me, and I'm 5'3. "Bea, I- I don't know why I snapped like that, I'm tired and hungry and-"Jade was cut off. "DON'T YOU 'BEA' ME, JADE!"Beatriz turned away.
Jade sighed, putting their coat over Beatriz's shoulders. "O-okay."Jade frowned, staring at the floor.

"Uhh... who want's McDonalds?"Erik asked. I coughed, "Erm- Sure..."

We walked into the Mcdonalds, Valentina stepped up to the cashier.

"You will give us all free food."She ordered.
"I... I'm gonna give you all free food..."The cashier replied.
"Good!"Valentina smiled, giving him our orders, and we sat down. I glanced over at Jade and Beatriz, they were turned away from eachother.

"Uhh... So... I wonder if this is the last meal for any of us..."I muttered.

"Great way to brighten the mood, Atticus."Jade rolled their eyes.
"Just, listen to me for once!"I said a little to loud, I cleared my throat. "I just wanted to say, this quest was... pretty short for quest standards, and I don't know most of you well... but... I love you guys, okay? I don't wanna get sappy or anything, but, you're definetely some of my best friends."The words flowed from my mouth, I didn't really know what I was saying, but it seemed to work, everyone raised their plastic Mcdonalds cups, and we made a toast. A toast to love, a toast to friendship, most importantly... a toast to being alive.

After we ate, we left the fast food place, without paying, and scurried back to where our dragon was, and we boarded it. We were currently in Modesto, so flying to LA shouldn't take long... about...thirty minutes on dragon.

The dragon began to fly, and I got the same giddy feeling as last time I flew, the wind blowing my hair and the urge to giggle like I was a little kid again.

"Att-Atticus..."Edie mumbled.
"Huh?"I asked.
"I- I'm scared..."She said.
"I know, Edie, I know..."I pat her back.

We reached LA. Almost to the mall that leaded to Heaven. The dragon let us down, and then flew away, it's job was done.
"Hm."Jade muttered.
"Hm, what?"Beatriz asked.
"A simple HM, Beatriz!"Jade scoffed.

Erik rolled his eyes, Valentina did the same, and we headed for the mall.
"When we get in there, follow my lead, no getting distracted and whatnot, we're focused on our one mission. Save Ezra, and maybe his sister, too."Jade said, "Also, there aren't any bathrooms in Heaven, go to the toilet before we go in. Now, WHO'S READY TO KILL SOME ANGELS?!"Jade yelled, we all rose our fists and screamed, Edie copied after me, giggling.

We ran into the mall, took a turn, and went up to the store. The guy at the counter grinned at us as we entered.
"Welcome. Have you got anything for me?"He asked.

I pat my pockets, right... I forgot to bring something for him. We all searched our pockets, and Edie seemed to be making conversation with the man.

Jade sighed, taking off their pentagram earrings, "Here, real gold." The man happily snatched them, admired them, and then threw them into his desk's drawer. "Elevator over there!"The man pointed with his head, "Oh, and, little girl, it's pretty there, tell me about it when you get back!"He smiled, and we all entered the elevator, still nervous.

The music in the elevator was Elvis and Frank Sinatra, possibly trying to take our mind off of the things about to happen.

It did not work.
