As we were riding to the college I thought back to the movie and found out that after that scene at Sam's house there was the meeting at base.

I groaned and threw my head back against the seat.

"Ellie? You alright?" Sam asked from beside me.

"No, I'm not...hey, Ron, can I borrow your phone?" I asked him.

"Of course." He dug around his pocket before tossing it back for me.

"Thanks." I called William's cell phone and hoped he'd answer. Thankfully he did.

"Hello?" He asked.

"William, has the meeting started yet?" I asked him.

"It's about to....why?" He asked with suspicion in his tone.

"I need to listen in."

"Galloway won't like that."

"Do I ever care what Galloway thinks? Put me on speaker and set the phone on the railing." I told him. I heard him sigh before I heard it start to echo and then a faint clang as he set the phone down. I nodded before starting to listen.

"Yes, sir. We have intel that I believe warrants an immediate debrief. Now with your permission, I can't let you see him, but I would like you to hear from the leader of the Autobots." Will told General Morshower

"Proceed." I heard everything clearly, good phone Will. I heard Optimus transforming before I wiped my face and took a deep breath, I was aware of Sam watching me and his parents glancing at me from time to time.

"General, our alliance has countermanded six Decepticon incursions this year, each on a different continent. They're clearly searching around the world for something. But last night's encounter came with a warning." Optimus told General Morshower.

"The Fallen shall rise again." The recording sounded around the room and through the phone.

"The Fallen. Meaning what?" Morshower asked.

"Origin unknown. The only recorded history of our race was contained within the Allspark and lost with its destruction." Optimus answered.

"Excuse me! With this so-called Allspark now destroyed, why hasn't the enemy left the planet like you thought they would?" Galloway asked. Ugh...really? Here we go.

"Director Galloway, our National Security Advisor. The President just appointed him liaison." William started to introduce.

"Well, I guess I didn't get that memo." Morshower told him.

"Forgive the interruption, General. Excuse me. Coming through. Excuse me. Excuse me, soldier. Um. After all the damage in Shanghai, the President is, um, hard-pressed to say the job's getting done. Now, under the classified Alien-Autobot Cooperation Act,you agreed to share your intel with us, but not your advancements in weaponry." His voice got closer until it was right beside the phone. Good now when I talk he can hear me.

"We've witnessed your human capacity for war. It would absolutely bring more harm than good." You tell him Boss Bot!

"But who are you to judge what's best for us?" Galloway asked.

"With all due respect, we've been fighting side by side in the field for two years." William told him.

"We've shed blood, sweat and precious metal together." I heard Epps call from beside Optimus's foot. Now remember I can't see anything, I've watched the movie countless times.

"Soldier, you're paid to shoot, not talk." He's giving me a headache already.

"Easy." I heard Optimus say, ah, Epps.

"And the, ah, newest members of your team, I understand they arrived here after you sent a message into space, an open invitation to come to Earth, vetted by no one at the White House." Galloway, Mr.I-Think-I-Know-It-All, said.

"Let me stop you right there, mister Galloway. It was vetted right here. And in my experience, the judgment of both Major Lennox and his team has always been above reproach." Morshower remarked.

"Well, be that as it may, General, it is the position of the President that when our national security is at stake... No one is above reproach. Now, what do we know so far? We know that the enemy leader, classified NBE-One-" Oh, Galloway, here you go with your big mouth. "a.k.a. Megatron, is rusting in peace at the bottom of the Laurentian Abyss, surrounded by SOSUS detection nets and a full-time submarine surveillance. We also know that the only remaining piece of your alien Allspark is locked in an electromagnetic vault here on one of the most secure naval bases in the world. And since no one can seem to tell me what the enemy is now after. Well, there's only one clear conclusion! You! The Autobots! They're here to hunt you! What's there to hunt for on Earth besides that? The Fallen shall rise again? It sounds to me like something's coming. So. Let me ask, if we ultimately conclude that our national security is best served by denying you further asylum on our planet, will you leave? Peacefully?"

I stepped in then.

"Galloway, I wouldn't dig myself in a hole about something you know nothing about! There's more to all of this than you think. You've opened you're big mouth, said things you shouldn't have said and now we're all going to pay the price for it." I shouted. Everyone in the car with me jumped before looking at me with wide eyes.

Everything on the other end on the phone was silent.

"Who are you?" I heard through the phone, Galloway.

"That's not important, but I'm going to take Optimus's line real quick, hope you don't mind Boss Bot, and say this. "'Freedom is our right. If you make that request, they will honor it. But... before the President decides, please ask him this: What if they leave... and you're wrong?'" I ask. I was met with silence.

"That's a good question." William said. I hung up before anyone could say anything else.

"I know it was a good question." I mumbled before sitting back into the seat after handing Ron's phone back to him.

A/N: Shorter than normal but, hey, I think it turned out better than I thought it was going to. What did you think? Should I have put her into the meeting? Thank you!
