On the day of the party, I kept feeling nervous. I know I have a right to be there as their lawyer. I know it will help me meet their investors but still, I feel nervous about the whole thing. I kept combing over my hair multiple times, and even Yao stopped by to make sure I looked good. Still, I just felt out of place, maybe people will like me? Hopefully, they aren't sketchy people who are doing bad things. I would be the odd man out.
Francis ordered a car to come to pick me up whenever I was ready. The party started about an hour ago and I'm late because I'm nervous... Great... I could even see the car waiting outside my apartment building. I took a couple of deep breaths and began to grab my stuff. I have to go now, I can't be stalling anymore.

Arriving at the party wasn't too bad, we made it safely and I found my way inside. However, without anyone here to talk to me, I was just standing around. I wanted to find Francis, but I'm sure he was talking to some very important people at the moment.I walked around for a moment and decided to stand by this pillar, and take drinks whenever a waiter passed by. "You seem lonely, may I join you?" A voice spoke. I turned my head to see this woman, she was so pretty and looked so kind. "Yeah, no problem," I smiled. She nodded and stood beside me. She gave me this sweet smile and honestly, it made my heart flutter. "You seem new to these types of events," she started.
"That's obvious?" I laughed. She nodded and began to stand in front of me. "Are you an investor for Francis and Amelia?" I asked. She began to laugh and nod "why of course" she cheered. "And you must be the new lawyer everyone's heard about?" She started. "Heard about? I didn't know I was a topic of discussion," I laughed out nervously. "Well.... Francis brags about how great you are, and how you are going to really make an impact on the company.... So everyone assumed you had to be," she smiled.
I felt my cheeks get red and I tried to shake it off. "Well, nothing like that.... I just try to help as much as I'm allowed to. It's nothing great, just my job," I pointed out. She nodded and began to reach her hand out to me. "What was your name again?" She asked, placing a hand on my cheek. "A..Arthur..." I stuttered out. "Arthur, that is such a cute name, My name is Lucile," she smirked at me.
"Oh, that's cool!!" I said nervously. She began to get really handsie and I didn't know what to do. "Haha, you sure are touchy," I gulped. I tried to move her hand, but she didn't budge. Lucile began to get super close to me, and I immediately began to back up away from her. "How about we go somewhere quiet?" She suggested.
I began to shake my head fast and say no multiple times. "It's no fun that Francis gets all the fun with you; why can't I?" She asked. My eyes widened, and I didn't know what to say. I thought no one else knew that Francis and I were meeting up with each other. I have to act dumb!!! "Haha, what are you talking about?" I asked nervously. She began to laugh as if she didn't believe that I was clueless. "Oh you don't have to lie to me; I know everything," she teased.
My jaw dropped, and she began to push her face closer to mine. "Maybe not here in front of everyone?" I tried to excuse. "Oh, Are you scared that Francis is going to get jealous?" She teased. My eyes widened, and I felt myself turn red. "No, not that! We are in public," I tried to say.
"Let's see if he notices, though. Don't you want to see if he would get mad?" She asked. "No!!! He wouldn't! Just a little confused as to why a woman is all over me," I tried to explain. Her lips were starting to get closer and closer to mine. "Let's see then..." she whispered above my lips.
Suddenly.....
As if I was yanked by something strong... Nearly giving me whiplash!!!
"Hands off!" He spoke.
Francis had come in between Lucile and me and pulled me away from her. "Awww, no fun!!!" She whined. I felt shocked at the scene, and I didn't know what to do. "It's your fault for touching people you shouldn't," Francis defended. He was still holding on to me pretty tightly.
I pulled myself away from him and felt annoyed. "Idiot! You could have given me whiplash from that force," I rolled my eyes. "But I saved you!" He tried to defend. "Oh yeah, thanks ...." I said slowly. I then looked over to Lucile, who gave me a smug grin. "Oh look, I was right!" She began to cheer. I looked at her, defeated, and I didn't know what to say.
"Let's go, Arthur, you are staying by me! No more women for you tonight," Francis spoke and began to pull me away. "Nice meeting you, Arthur!! Let's talk soon!!" Lucile waved me off. That lady was something else and nearly made me laugh a bit.
"Listen to me; stay away from that witch," Francis started. "Why?" I asked, confused. His eyes seemed to have anguish in them. "That's my sister," he said, hissing. My eyes widened in realization.... She was trying to get on his nerves. It made me want to laugh, but now I had a question about how she knew it would bother him that much. Also, why would it bother him so much? I didn't exactly know why and I don't think it is as deep as I thought it was... but who even knows, I guess.....
