summer sat on her bed, dave and shianne talking to the CPS worker who stood in their kitchen. luckily the principal believed lilys and summers lie, but now dave and shianne had to lie to the kid cops.

summer just wanted to roll up into a ball and cry. but, she had no tears left to cry. she stayed sitting on the edge of her bed until she looked out her window and realized that the house across the street was finally starting to look like a real house again.

back in like 2018, the house across the street and 5 houses down was burnt to a crisp, summer remembers that day like it was yesterday. she was just playing soccer with lily in the same field of grass lily broke summers arm in, which was right behind the house.

summer just won the game when she noticed smoke coming from the house, she blew it off but 5 minutes later a freaking fire truck showed up. lily and summer jumped right onto their bikes and got closer to see what was going on, where they saw 2 kids sitting in their underwear on the curb.

since then, summer enjoyed watching the house get built, even though they took forever to build it.

summer sat on her window seat now, watching from the perched spot, 3 boys and a woman walking up to the house. she enjoyed watching the boys drive their mother nuts, it gave summer a glance into what real families look like. before she knew it, it was pitch black out and the family was gone. summer was going to go crawl into her bed and hope to never come back until her phone buzzed underneath her butt.
