in which, a young girl with a troubled home life meets the 3 b...
it was days later, and the constant flirting between summer and matt had continued on. though matt never 'broke up' with Sylvia, she knew it was over. which scared the entire friend group. but summer was trying not to worry. she had her sister back. that's all that mattered to her.
it was 7:30, 20 minutes after matt was supposed to wake up. he was still in bed, trying to ignore the inevitable. chris and nick had tried to wake him up several times but were unsuccessful. so, they brought in the big guns. Marylou.
"good morning!" she sang as she entered the boy's room, opening the black-out curtains and allowing light in the room. matt groaned loudly as Marylou sat on his bed, patting his leg.
"come on darling, it's time for school you gotta take you and your brothers to school!" she chimed again, matt groaning in response.
"Can I please just take one day off?" he begged, to which Marylou chuckled and continued to rub her son's back.
"come on, you know id rather you be in school and suck than miss it,"
"pleaseee" he begged again
"what about summer?"
"she has cheer she's not gonna be in school like at all," he groaned again. it wasn't that he was sick or depressed or anything like that, his anxiety had woke up on the wrong side of the bed and decided to be a bitch.
eventually, Matt got up and into the car, though his hands shivered with fear the entire time.
"matt come on," Chris groaned as Matt struggled to get out of the car. he shook his head and bit his lip, both of his brothers turning around to see matts anxiety suffocating him. they ran over but didn't know what to really do, everything they tried didn't seem to help.
"call summer, she'll know what to do," Chris said as he watched his brother shake and struggle to breathe, nick following his orders and pulling his phone out.
"dude what the fuck it's the middle of class if I get caught right now I am toast we arent supposed to use our phones in the locker rooms," summer groaned quietly in the phone as she got ready for cheer, her phone hiding in her locker.
"matts having an anxiety attack and nothing we're doing is helping" nick worriedly explained, summer nearly dropped her phone.
"where are you?"
"front lot, come quickly he's not doing so good,"
summer made an excuse that she left her shoes in her car and ran out the locker room, not caring that she was wearing only a sports bralette and Nike pros.
she saw the boys in the parking lot, she saw matt slowly walking away from the van with his brothers trying everything they could but it wasn't working.
"guys go to class, I got it," she said fast and after a little enticing they left. matt was shaking and nearly crying, gasping for air.
"Matt, hey, what's going on?" summer asked as she walked up to the boy and held his hands, remembering what he said to her on Halloween that calmed her down. he just shrugged as summer lead him back to the car, letting him sit down so he would fucking trip and eat shit on the cement.
after a while, he calmed down and was ready, though he really didn't want to.
"Hey, listen I know it's tough, but we're so close to being done, thanksgiving break is literally starting tomorrow, just one more day okay?" she reminded him.
"yeah." he dryly responded, breathing steadily.
"and, the pep rally is today, so you get to watch me cheer," she cheered him up again, knowing he really wanted to watch her cheer.
"I'm ready," Matthew explained before he and summer began walking towards the entrance.
summer ignored the angry comments coming from her coach as she warmed up and got into position, practicing the last time before the pep rally.
the pep rally everyone was gonna be at. the entire school. it was mandatory to go.

sweat covered the girls as they walked out into the field where the pep rally was being held, hundreds of high schoolers closely watching from the stands.
summer was trying to spot her friends but it was useless, there were so many people there was no chance she could see them. plus, alahna and lily aren't known for being tall.
'DJ got us falling in love' started playing from the stands before the girls started to do their routine, praying the bows in their hair and the jewels on their faces didn't fall off.
the school mascot was running around, on the inside of the suit was really just a perverted sophomore who wanted a chance to look at the cheer team up close. several administrators came out, doing their weird school administrators dance.
summers entire body shook as she danced. she thought at first it was because of the cold because she was barely wearing anything. but, it was nearly 70 degrees out. it wasn't that.
all of a sudden she had all eyes on her as she cheered. the center of attention.
she got to the point in the routine where she had to stand on her teammate's shoulders and flip into the arms of her other teammates below.
she was hesitant at first, struggling to balance as she looked in the stands frantically.
but it was when she saw her best friends, standing tall and cheering for her, when she calmed down and stuck the landing.
alahna was even sitting on Nick's shoulders, ignoring the protest from nearby teachers.
